RE: Title examples
Hi John, ”Not really OT as it gives people ideas for titling“ Good point. And on reflection it might be fun to see if any of BT’s effects could be done in MEP. I'll upload some examples within the next few days. I'm not at my PC and I’m darned if I

RE: Audio and Video in VOB file not sync'd
Is this an issue of being mis-aligned or losing sync? I have been doing tons of this weekly recently (i.e. receiving footage from a videocam or iphone and syncing to audio from a mic'd source which is mixed from a DAW, and replaces the original

RE: Can't play .MOV files or HEVC codec
@sportup I have an Android phone and it can record both. I think iPhones do as well. The other problem with the latest phones is that the latest Apple, Google, and Samsung phones are capable, and seemingly by default, record at a variable frame rate

RE: Can't play .MOV files or HEVC codec
I have an iPhone so I think I'm stuck with all videos being .mov...right? To be honest I'm a bit ignorant on if I can convert the format on the phone - never looked into it, just assumed it was what it was. working with MPEG-4 has always been

Hi John, Many thanks for looking into this. I realised from your screenshots that the issue of superimposed main and mobile pages was probably just showing on my own devices (PC and iphone). I flushed the cache (Ctrl-F5 on Windows Chrome browser

RE: How to best deal with Apple (iPhone 11) shot at 30fps vs. 29.97fps
@Craigster Hi So, not a problem, per se with varying frame rates (within 1/2 frame in VPX/MEP); but the variability in the iPhone framerate tolerance may be causing the problem. John is just referring to the fact that MEP is only frame accurate in

@Craigster Hi . . . . Wondering if you might have misspoken, as the iPhone video files DO have a constant "bitrate". . . . . No mis-speak - it is the time code relative relative to the frame(s) or interleave that the audio is synced to, or not in

@Craigster Hi Thanks for the MediaInfo data. I do not think the different file formats should be an issue, however mixing constant and variable framerate could be causing the out of sync audio. I would convert the iPhone video files to constant

RE: importing iphone video picture is blank
Yes, iPhone generate the HEVC video but you can turn on compatibility mode before you transfer it to your PC. Also, my Magix is up-selling the HEVC codec to me when I try to play such a file, even as Win10 already installed a codec and play it in

@Craigster Hi The VLC analysis is insufficient, a MediaInfo video analysis is required - it gives more detail and may also indicate how the audio is synced. . . . . IF the FCP footage is VARIABLE frame rate, does this mean it's designed to adapt?

@Craigster Hi . . . . "30 fps" when they mean 29.97 . . . . A MediaInfo analysis of a clip will tell you exactly what the true frame rate is and whether is is fixed or variable among other useful information. . . . . once rendered are in many

RE: How to best deal with Apple (iPhone 11) shot at 30fps vs. 29.97fps
@Craigster Hi. Does VP-X not give you a choice of frame rate when you create a new project? Sure, but that's not the issue. The issue is MIXED Frame rates. So, I'm in a 29.97 project with standard 29.97fps footage. And then I'm bringing in

How to best deal with Apple (iPhone 11) shot at 30fps vs. 29.97fps
So, I know that in common parlance, people say "30 fps" when they mean 29.97 (drop or non-drop frame). However, with Apple, apparently, they really mean it. Both VLC player and Video Pro X see Apple's iphone footage as true 30 fps; not as 29.97. AND
