  This controller will work, as far as MIDI controller support goes in Music Maker. MAGIX has even bundled it with a Music Maker edition. The 16 pads are in the correct range to correspond with the 16 virtual pads of Music Maker's "Live Pads"

  Depends on what you want to do. If you want traditional instrument sounds go for 49 keys and if you want real time controllers go for something with knobs while pads are good for triggering things.
