RE: Windows Software to import Video with a Canopus ADVC110
@Jeff-Reed When using the Panasonic ES15, are you using the Es15 as a throughput device only (post VCR output), or are you actually recording a DVD, and subsequently exporting that DVD recording to your computer? Only as throughput/passthrough. The

AAprods, excellent info there. Good to know that the newer USB sticks are more pure/lossless. The video samples you provided show the very clear benefits of the ES15 and S video outs. 1) When using the Panasonic ES15, are you using the Es15 as a

RE: Installing and activating add-on programs
@allaa-Azawi Hi, Just so that you know, videos from an external device are not "imported" into MEP. They are imported to your hard drive and show up in MEP. The files used by MEP always have to reside somewhere on your computer on a drive accessible

@johnebaker what sort of frame rates do you get on your exports when NV is used? You know the story of the hare and the tortoise... Except that, in this case, Ray's hare really does win the race! My system chugs along at around 5 frames per second

RE: Windows Software to import Video with a Canopus ADVC110
Well gents, I have good news to report. Got the Star Tech PCIe firewire 400 card and my Dell running Windows 10 recognized it as soon as I booted up the machine after the card install. No legacy drivers have been needed as of yet. Downloaded a trial

RE: Video color noise
@MineJOT1 Welcome to the Magix user to user forums. First, you need to understand that the outside edges of any VHS tapes (where you can see the pixelated noise) are the "overscan" area, which, when you play the tape on your TV, is hidden

RE: video capture issue, program or capture device
I think it's your capture stick. A capturing program won't have this effect on a video. It (they) basically just copy the signal coming in from the stick. I don't think they "process" the video coming in, per se. The stick video (on the left) needs

RE: Windows Software to import Video with a Canopus ADVC110
Thanks everyone for your responses. To be clear, I have the external canopus ADVC 110 device, not a PCI card version. I was assuming I would need to buy a PCI card with a FireWire port to see if the canopus external device would be recognized. Since

Windows Software to import Video with a Canopus ADVC110
I'm looking for a Windows 10 software solution that will help me import older VHS and camcorder videos and subsequently edit them. I have the Canopus ADVC110 device, which connects via IEEE1394 (firewire). I know some folks who work with Vegas Pro

@mark-perry OK it came with Homestech vhs-dvd (with just that function) years ago but with the driver it works with MEP but some sort of technical tantrums just won't accept a decent tape signal Well, we haven't actually established that. As I asked

@mark-perry On my DVD recorder no such problems exist I assume by this you mean you have copied the VHS to a DVD, then transferred that to your laptop. Try capturing your tape with MEP from your DVD recorder (VHS playback only, of course, don't use

RE: video capture issue, program or capture device
@mark-perry Nothing to worry about. VHS captures are interlaced, hence the horizontal jaggies, but if you play the video on the timeline after you have finished your capture, you won't see any of the interlacing, and any export or DVD won't have it

@O.DeC.1 Hi Do you have a USB video capture device/dongle as shown below? If not, you need one to connect the VCR video and audio outputs to the converter which is used by Movie Edit Pro (MEP). The make/model does not have to be a Magix dongle,

Hi, you need to hook up your VHS player in some way to your PC then in Magix click the red record button on the preview screen, it'll give you options, you'll have to play the VHS whilst recoding with MEP.
