I think Sony called their connection iLink... maybe doing a search for ilink to firewire ... I believe they are identical anyway, but this way maybe you can get the right cable Sorry I cannot be of more help

Hi there, if those are .mov files, you will need Quicktime. However, as you are connecting via USB, preferably directly to a USB port on your computer, then the program won't recognise it anyway. That is a firewire feature in the Record window.

Hi John3801, as the Panasonic NV-GS250 is a MiniDV-Camcorder, you need to use a FireWire cable to connect your camcorder to your computer - an USB-Connection will not work. Kind regards, your MAGIX Video Team

I agree, try copying the files from the DVD to your hard drive, then import them to MEP. I also found that I had to use firewire to have MEP detect my DV camera. YOu might try that.

Your camera is a DVD-camera ? Then you can't record to MEP, but you must copy the files to the harddisk before editing. Using the USB-cable, I guess you'll find the camera as an external unit, and then copy the files to the harddisk. Or copying by

How is the camera connected to your computer? If it is firewire, turn the camera off and back on again. You should hear a little "bink" of the computer recognizing the camera and loading driver for it. YOu should also see a loading drivers

I don't know "Rescue your Videotapes", but do you use Firewire cable for the job? Nothing else works with that camera, as far as I know.
