RE: Weird issue with using Smart Copy/Smart Render in MEP 2019 Premium
AFAIK, you cannot do this, there is more to this I can do it, and have done it, with several editing/DVD programmes including Vegas Pro, VMS and DVDA. The image isn't changed. The two fields are the same. It's just that they aren't taken from two

RE: Video Pro X and Vegas Pro exports
OK back to VPX. I have this program called subrip that Filmhub said I should use to create closed captions. It seems to require a file with .VOB at the end in order to do it's magic. Does anyone know how to generate one of these VOB files from VPX?

RE: Video Pro X and Vegas Pro exports
"VOB", in this context, appears to be part of the name of a subtitles file ripped from a DVD (which as Jeff points out, contains VOBs): https://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php/VOBsub I suspect that @doug_mccarron is referring to the VOBSUB file that is

RE: Dual Layer DVDs - atrocious luck or is just my project
@mark-perry If your whole project is indeed 4.97 GB that is larger than can fit onto a standard, single-layer recordable DVD. Its capacity is 4.7GB. That would account for the failure of the 5th vob, I think. Jeff

@mark-perry Hi . . . . . . . . But both times the same results MEP failed precisely same as each other: with 4.97 size/2h 30m/5 x 1G vobs. . . . . In addition to @AAProds recap and suspicions, which I agree with, can you also confirm the

RE: Aspect Ratio Query
@Xenofex2 Following on from Andy's post, a DVD is broken up into multiple VOBs. The maximum size for a VOB is 1048mb, equating to very roughly 25-odd minutes of video (depends on the compression). If a movie goes over that 25 minutes, another VOB is

RE: How can I create USB thumb drive with menus.
Magix cannot, as far as I am aware, insert chapters into a video file. It can only create menus via the DVD process, which is obviously not what you want. Some comments on this issue: -MKVToolnix, I understand, has the ability to insert chapter

RE: Problem with exported DVD
@emmrecs Jeff, I fear we are headed for a merrygoround ride; a sample of your capture (which I assume is MPEG 2 from that internal card you use?) will allow us to investigate further. See my making a snippet with AVIDemux if you don't know how to.

@clement5 Hi John C . . . . apparently lifted from a VHS tape likely of a broadcast . . . . IMHO if that was the case then there should be no dust, or foreign objects lodged in the fim gate which are clearly seen in the video files you provided.

RE: Dual Layer DVDs - atrocious luck or is just my project
No it's a dual layer 3h50m. 2nd attempt (i reduced the size a little rather close to full capacity) but it failed. It created 9 vobs, I measured each layer was about 3.7 gb each but on the final part of the process (burning to disc) it started a few

RE: Dual Layer DVDs - atrocious luck or is just my project
@AAProds Hi Al . . . . I suspect (could be wrong though) that Magix wants you to split the project to another disk, not a DL disk. . . . Using the 'Split project' option does indeed split the project over 2 discs and ISO files - see my post above,

RE: The output formats are messed up in Movie Studio 2024
It was made from a 720x480 4:3 DVD which was apparently lifted from a VHS tape likely of a broadcast, but may have been a dub from a 16mm film. As to the specs for the original film it is "The Leathernecks have Landed" which can be researched on

Thank you for your responses. I was up late messing around with Subtitle Edit and managed to get it to start doing something after watching several youtube videos. It didn't seem to need a VOB file. Another program called SubRip did need the VOB

@Xenofex2 I had loads of files gathered from DVDs, many like IFO files reference other files, so in a way you didn't watch that IFO file, you watched the VOB through that. Googled - 'An IFO file is a DVD-Video disc information file used by DVD
