RE: [Solved] "Takes" functionality
Hi All, Amazing what I have learned from all your comments. Not only the “Takes” subject, but also on the VDL work flow for film creation. Many thanks for all of this. I started my project to get through the VDL editing learning curb and that is

RE: Where does the extra text come from?
If there is a region list made with another editor, could that cause this error? Hi @Christer-Lindstedt, Yes, it likely is a marker (metadata) from another application. You can delete it if so desired. It does not affect the audio or the audio

RE: Weird issue with using Smart Copy/Smart Render in MEP 2019 Premium
@AAProds, @jak.willis Hi Al, Jak . . . . 1920x1080 25P (your files) are only supported for UHD bluray, . . . . I think there is a mistype there, UHD is 4K 3840 x 2160 which was never released as a consumer format, it was strictly commercial only,

Cleaning reel to reel tapes
I have some old reel to reel tapes from the 1960s which have some sections where the recording has faded and sounds muffled. Is there any way to improve these sections? I've tried the normal cleaning which only gives a slight improvement. I want to

RE: balance sound level to be equal from two cameras/sources on final edit
@browj2 Hi John, I can pretty much agree with you. That's why I always create my videos without audio editing. When I encounter a clip, like in your example video, I immediately remove it from my edit and don't use it. Audio recorded in very poor

RE: Selected Aspect Ratio Not Exporting
@Peaceful-Pixel There are many historical reasons for the few mainstream frame rates used for film and video. This short video from Angus Davies explains the history of its progression quite well. He doesn't go into the financial or audio benefits

RE: Seems to be a codec problem
@james-o7579 Try recoding it with AVIDemux. I have posted instructions on my site here. Use the "MOV to MP4" procedure. It's a lossless process so you won't lose any quality; it just re-writes the header info. It would be worth shooting a short

RE: Is there a way to increase the cache?
@Steve-Jones3743 Hi and welcome to the user to user forums. I doubt it's a cache problem but may be down to not enough free space on the C: drive as a lot of space is needed to allow the temp files to be created and written to disk. Those files can

@jak.willis Hi Jak . . . . 720x576, then won’t the video still get compressed with more loss of quality? . . . . The loss, if any, should be minimal, the source video is already at a bitrate lower then the default for 720x 576 SD quality as you can

RE: What Apple format: Apple ProRes or HEVC codecs can Movie Studio run?
@Tusk Depending on the phone, Android based phones can use external microphones to improve audio quality in video footage. There are various blogs on the subject such as the one here. However, if it's the audio that is the main concern why use the
