RE: Movie Edit Pro Plus 2013
Hi Apologies - I said bitrate when I meant Sample rate - however the images also shows this is the same for both types of video ie 48kHz which is OK. We still need to see what the video format is inside the AVI fles to eliminate any problems

RE: How to track missing MEP project files?
Hi, According to your screen shot, the file that MEP is looking for used to be in the following path C:\\Users\Bert\Videos\chan vob\Vts_01_2.VOB It is either no longer at this locaction, or the file name has been changed. You need to find

RE: Editing Projects in Magix Movie Edit Pro MX
Hi . . . . how can i check to know for certain that that its DRM that is causing the problem . . . . AFAIK you would have to use a DVD ripper can tell you what the DRM is if any - however the use of these is illegal for discs which use a DRM

RE: Editing Projects in Magix Movie Edit Pro MX
Hello Johnebaker, I had tried copying the movies VOBs ( VTS_01_1 , VTS_01_2 etc ) to the PC's hard drive, then changing the file extension to mpg /wmv but for some reasons this method will not work for most of these PAL DVDs and certainly not

RE: Editing Projects in Magix Movie Edit Pro MX
Hi Following on Emmrecs suggestion about importing VOB and your comment about running them through a converter. Try copying the movie VOBs ( VTS_01_1 , VTS_01_2 etc ) to your computer hard drive, then change the file extension to mpg - you

RE: Editing Projects in Magix Movie Edit Pro MX
Not sure I can give a definitive answer on this, but one or two things occur to me. First, is it possible that the original is actually a dual-layer DVD, hence program up to 9.4Gb? A number of the messages you mention certainly seem to suggest

RE: VTS-01_1.VOB - Should the existing file be used for the film
HI Whalebat AFAIK there is no reference to these in the Help or manual. These options appear once you have carried a burn to DVD, first you need to know the structure of a DVD which has the following components: VTS_01_1.VOB -

RE: video stabilization problems on burned DVDs
Hi Ralph You need to post some detailed information on the format, frame rate, Interlaced or progressive, etc of your original footage and the .VOB files created on the disc. You can analyse this with a free program called Media info and copy

RE: poor sound quality of burned DVD
Hi Do you have any codec packs, eg KLite, installed? The fact that mpg files sound is OK is strange because the same codec should be used for creating the intermediate files before they are changed in to VOB's (all VOB files are MPEG streams,

RE: poor sound quality of burned DVD
Thank you, Scenestealer. I always perform a Select All >> Normalize when I compile projects. The problem is that the VOB encoder is for some reason dissatisfied with the normalized volume. The other encoders (WMV, MXV, MPG, MP4) handle it

RE: poor sound quality of burned DVD
Hi Terry, My latest experiment seemed to have worked -- namely, setting the volume of the project files MUCH lower for encoding into VOB format than for exporting as WMV, MPG, MXV or MP4 files. The VOB encoder evidently has more sensitive ears

RE: poor sound quality of burned DVD
The problem is in the encoding. If I play the VOB file directly from the hard drive (not the DVD) in, for example, Windows Media Player, I encounter the same problem. I noticed that the sections with the fewest problems were encoded from MP3s,

RE: poor sound quality of burned DVD
Hi, First, establish whether the issue is definitely in the burning or the encoding. To do this, see if it plays from the DVD folder created by MEP directly after the encoding. This is located wherever you've specified in Program Setings >

Why is there a difference in video length between imported and no imported.
I am using Movie Edit Pro 2013 v12.01.4 with Windows XP. I have imported a video with 15 different clips directly from the disc taken from the Samsung DVD camcorder. If I play clip 6 outside Magix using a video player software it runs for 3

Hi Terry I believe the DVD menus can be accessed from WDTV - try selecting the smaller VOB in the disc image folder. Those encoder setting should say the same thing but I do notice that the first window is greyed out in that area. I do not

Hello Arthur, You should be able to drag the .VOB file directly into the timeline using the import tab. You should also be able to play it before you import to make sure you got the right file. I have ocassionaly had problems dragging .VOB

Thanks, George. I neglected to mention that I would probably want to convert it from 4:3 to 16:9 as well. Thankfully some time ago John taught me how to do that, and I finally found my notes I saved from his tutorial, so I should be good to

RE: OT: WDTV puzzle
Okay. If you burn a DVD and then explore its structure through My Computer in the Disc drive E: or whatever you will see the .VOB files that make up the video files on the disc. They can actually be renamed as .mpg and be played in Windows Media
