    RE: OT: WDTV puzzle
Thats what I meant too Terry.   Hi Peter, What's puzzling me is your reference to a VOB file? I assume that's at 720x576 resolution (if you rendered or burned to SD DVD, not BluRay), not HD 1920x1080. I'm comparing what I see when

RE: DVD size relative to MP4
Hi Terry Those export settings look Ok to me and should give good results. I have read a few posts from the German magixinfo experts and they have advised some posters that they should not go above the defaults or perhaps a Bitrate of 7500 and

My Cat6 cable is 30metres long (I live in a palace). If you mean do I see a difference in viewing the VOB from file versus playing the disc, I would say normally not but in view of my recent posts about my problems with burning a progressive

RE: Can MEP2013 create a Progressive DVD that will play correctly without aliasing and jerking on set top DVD players
Hi John That is a good article which possibly gives some clues as to why my progressive material looks bad if the TV is trying to interlace it as in the animated gif of the green ball demonstrating "progressive video on an interlaced display".

RE: Burn Failure Magix 13 Deluxe
Hi Thanks for the error extract that was useful. The project is not particularly large, so the movie will only be in one VOB after all the encoding and packaging has been done -  the log indicates this has encoded OK. The error would appear

Can MEP2013 create a Progressive DVD that will play correctly without aliasing and jerking on set top DVD players
Hi All I am having a hard time creating a 720x576 Progressive DVD disc from 1080p footage that will play correctly on my own and other DVD players. I have performed many test encodes and burns with different settings, bitrates and discs and

Hi Did you try to burn a DVD before you added all the transitions, music etc ? Did you get any messages saying that the DVD files (VOBs) exist and asking you to select from Encode, Encode All, Use or Use All ? If so you should select Encode

RE: Hello Everyone, thanks for all your help, how do you burn a project to a dvd without opening up the project in movie edit pro
Charlie, I'd say your question can be answered sort of yes or no on a technical level... The 'no' first: Your MEP project is just a set of instructions -- what parts of what clips should be played in what order, what other objects say images,

RE: Newbie question - create complete DVD output but don't burn it...how?
Jim I think all you have to do is choose 'Image recorder:' as your burning device and note where the files are being saved -- the 'Encode in directory' button further down. You should get .VOB and other files file that can be burnt to a DVD

Newbie question - create complete DVD output but don't burn it...how?
I'm evaluating Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013.  Been a user of Pinnacle Studio for some time but it's having problems rendering my H.264 MP4 video from my new camcorder. Magix is reading the files just fine.  But I still have to learn the program,

RE: How can I integrate 2 or 3 minutes from a DVD Movie (9o mn) into my own project?
First you must copy the VOB-file(s) from DVD to the harddisk. Then open your project, and click the Filmwheel and click New movie and answer Don't close. Drag the VOB to the new Timeline and cut out the portion you want, mark it and copy it

Ray, As you gathered, I don't work with Blu-ray so you'll need John's advice there. But I still think it looks as if MEP doesn't support your drive! If you can play the main content that has already been rendered, namely the large VOB files,

RE: Fails to Burn to disk
Hi, First, establish whether the issue is definitely in the burning or the encoding. To do this, see if it plays from the DVD folder created by MEP directly after the encoding. This is located wherever you've specified in Program Setings >

Hi David, Have you successfully burned DVDs on this PC with MEP MX before? "Things work fine on the computer..." So it plays OK on the MEP timeline? And if you export it as an MPG, MP4 or WMV, that plays OK? No messages from the burn
