RE: No audio on avi files
Clevo nailed it. An AVI file could contain a wide variety of codecs. You need to establish what audio codec your DivX files are using and whether it is on your system. You can do so by using a codec analyzer tool like

RE: No audio on avi files
G'day There's more than 800+ varieties of AVI files as the extension is a wrapper format. I'm not sure how to read your post as it seems to imply you believe that your AVI is encoded with the divx codec...and you seem to be implying that the

No audio on avi files
I am not getting audio on avi movies. I have divx codecs and updated ac3 filter as well but the problem is persisting. i had audio on the files in version 14 and have just updated to version 15.

RE: help with decode
Hi, Exactly what version of Movie Edit Pro (version number, "plus" or classic) are you using and what kind of file are you trying to import (file type/extension)? If this is an actual *.MP4 or AVCHD file that is encoded in H.264, you'd need to

RE: I cannot import MP4's into Movies on DVD7
Hi there, That is true - the MPEG-4 codec activation in Movies on DVD 7, which you would need for actual MP4 files, is an optional feature and does require an additional paid-for activation. There's a footnote about this on the box as well. I

Hi there, Just to avoid potential misunderstandings: What kind of codec is that and how do you intend to use it? If this is a proper DirectShow-compliant codec, you'd use it in the context of AVI export in Movie Edit Pro, where you will find

RE: [Closed] Best way to converty MP4 Video 720 X480 format for Magix?
Hi, Movie Edit Pro 14 does support MP4 files, but you'd have to activate the MPEG-4 codec first, which is an optional, paid-for activation in the classic version. If you got the "plus" version of Movie Edit Pro 14 or 15, this activation is

Hi again, Thanks for the detailed update. I'm sure there's enough information here that I can work with. :-) Basically, there are different aspects to this issue. Let's start with the sound problem: I understand this occurs when you import

RE: Best settings for VHS video
Hi, If you want a final result of 700 to 800 MB/hour files that you want to e.g. store on your hard drive, you'd already have to go for something in the order of MPEG-4 (e.g. DivX/Xvid) or WMV compression. So, since you're not going for MPEG-2

Hi there, What export format exactly are you picking when exporting from Windows Movie Maker (i.e. the video and audio codec you're using in your AVI file)? Any chance we're actually talking about a DV AVI file here? Movie Edit Pro doesn't seem

RE: [Closed] Static noises while editing
Just for the record, there's no such thing as a "simple AVI file". In fact, that's probably the kind of file where matters get most complicated, since AVI is a container format. It could contain a wide variety of different audio and video codecs.

When I import an AVI with Dvix compression, it hangs.
I've been using Movie edit pro 15 for some time and it's great with AVI files or mpg's but when I try to import an avi with Dvix compression, it hangs, even though I have the codec from the Dvix website and I can use that codec in other programs. I

Hi, This file format was indeed not supported in version 11 of Movie Edit Pro yet. MPEG-4 content is accepted in an AVI file, though. You don't really have to shell out for a conversion software, though. The following free program might do the
