RE: How do I change the aspect ratio to something like 2:35:1?
Hi Louis It can be done however you may well have problems creating a DVD/BD or exporting - if you wish to try you can change the aspect ratio of the movie by pressing the E key or select File, Settings, Movie and change the settings shown here

RE: Cropping of DVD-menu background.
In respect of your chapter thumbnail pictures showing the TV border cropping - I can confirm that this happens but I can see no way of fixing this. I do not think the cropping of your back ground has anything to do with the TV border adjustment

RE: Cropping of DVD-menu background.
I took a closer look at MEP's DVD menu backgrounds. It seems to me that, like some other video editors and players, MEP might automatically recognise such images when loaded and intelligently resize them. Avoiding the chore of allowing for this in

TV cropping visible in DVD menu, scene previews
I have found out that the TV cropping setting of 10% is right for me (which is the default). I now have that when I make a DVD, which works very nice for playing my videos, BUT this setting is also applied in the scene-preview in my DVD menu,

RE: Unwanted cropping
Hi Scenestealer, Thanks for pointing this out to me. I didn't know about right-clicking video's in the time-line to check the border-cropping adjustment. It was checked in my case (without me knowing about it...). I have found out that a

RE: Unwanted cropping
To make the cropping set in the "Movie effects settings" > "TV Picture" tab active, you need to right click the any video clip in the timeline and check mark "border cropping adjustment". The picture will then shrink in the preview monitor by

RE: Unwanted cropping
Hi John, Thank you very much. It seems to work now. I tried it with the 1600x900 image first, which didn't work, but then I tried with the movies I mentioned before. The movie was 100% in view on the TV. The only thing was a rather big black

RE: Unwanted cropping
Hi John, Thanks very much for trying to help me. I created a 1600x900 jpeg and imported it in MEP 17. In the image I put arrows at the borders. Afrter creating a DVD from it (no settings changed, just put a 16:9 menu on it) I tried it out

RE: Why don't most of the transitions work properly
Oh, the strange arrangement of the posts in this forum is not your fault - it does that automatically if you edit your initial post. You could also reply to your own question instead of editing it but that's your choice, I'm fine with both. The

whitmers, I use a slightly different method to put a frame around still images. As suggested by y-r I use a free photo editor (Xtreme Photo Designer 7) that came with my Magix video editing program, but rather than drawing a line around

RE: How to move chapters over to another page to fit where other chapter markers are?
shadow13524, Can't say for MEP16 but for 14 & 17 the procedure seems to be to first select a default layout to get your background, font, borders & buttons, and then go to 'Composition' (MEP14+) or 'Order' (MEP17+) to choose the

RE: Are there less effects in Movie Edit Pro 17 than earlier versions had?
Dear terryleemartin, the content changes from version to version, that's true. If we would not remove old content, there wouldn't be space for new content - and there is a lot of new content included in version 17. Coming back to your

Are there less effects in Movie Edit Pro 17 than earlier versions had?
I did a tutorial on creating ghosts and explosions. The person doing the tutorial had version 14 of MEP. He put in one effect that was included as part of version 14. It was called Dynamite. I can't find that effect in version 17. I also couldn't

RE: How do I Remove black borders on a 16:9 video?
jasaquayo, I've no ides how you got to have borders on both top and sides! Usually, if you convert 4:3 to 16:9, you get black bars at the sides only, to fill in the missing space. In contrast, going from 16:9 to 4:3 puts the bars at top and

RE: Convert 16:9 vob file after import to 4:3
A 16:9 should have been 4:3. Does this mean, that the film is stretched sideways to fill the screen? Without having any black border? Try this: Drag the VOB to timeline, go to Object properties (Ctrl+E) and set Aspect Ratio to 4:3. Perhaps
