RE: I have lost edit function, how do I restore?
kahlahwee, You should only need to use the MEP "reccord" function to capture a clip from a DV camera etc. Once the video is on your hard drive you can can bring it into the project timelines either from the 'media pool' section to the right of

RE: Add date as title dialogue
Thanks Terry - Yes, I'll report it. There may be something I'm missing, but it seems likely it's a module that could be removed. (yes the other thread does seem to show that only certain files work. I can get my DV files to behave, but that's it)

    Add date as title dialogue
I'm curious to know what the last function in the titler drop-down menu is supposed to do. It seems to offere the same functionality as the context menu option to Fade in date as title, but with more options. Only thing is, I can't select any

RE: recording not done through firewire (DV)
Hi, Since you have camera control through Movie Edit, it seems like your Firewire ports are working and not blown. Can you check to see if you can capture any video using a free utility like WinDV (DV) or HDVSplit (HDV)? This would at least

RE: Batch Recording MEP 2013 Plus
John,   One other thing. If I do HDV recording everything works perfectly. The "Select DV device driver" shows my Sony HDR Camera. But when I change the camera to "I.Link Conversion" to HDV to DV, this is when I have trouble. The "Select DV

Sorry for slow reply to your answer - things have been hectic for an old one like me! Anyway, after I had reported that adding a ".mpg" or ".mp4" extension worked, I did finally try a ".avi" extension - what a surprise that it also loaded and

How can I reduce the size of my DV videos ?
Just installed MAGIX Rescue Videotapes software. I was able to copy contents from a DV mini tape to my Mac, however, a 40 min video was recorded as 34 GB on my hard disk. How can I reduce the size of the video? Ultimately I'd like to burn a DVD

    Batch Recording MEP 2013 Plus
I'm having issues using the batch recording feature in MEP 2013 Plus. After I get my "recording list" set, I hit the record button, the software rewinds my DV camera tape to the first clip in the list start time, and then appears to start

Thanks for the info. I tried that, but to no avail. I'll try and shoot you a picture of how it looks. Track one is empty, but the video label shows above the timeline (video116.wmv) above the time. In the scene overview mode, most of the scenes
