RE: Non-standard Export Frame Rate in MP4.
@Richard-Curtis Hi Richard. I have found over time that sometimes a work flow method that did not work previously will sometimes work better in a new program or worse depending on what has been done internally to the software and how capable the

RE: Non-standard Export Frame Rate in MP4.
Hi Richard . . . . . interpolated frames largely destroy any attempt to stabilise a clip . . . . . I believe that one recommendation for this was to use a 2 step process - export the project at the new framerate as MXV (or AVI if you want to archive

@AAProds Good ol' Anna Logg. I knew I had forgotten a good reason to have avi. In that instance it does make a lot of sense to use before the final edit. Ray.

RE: Uncompressed AVI files give very large data rate
@jak.willis @CubeAce as the codec wouldn't be supported. What codec? If it's uncompressed then it doesn't use a codec, does it? That's why I was asking because I used to assume that if you chose to export a project as uncompressed AVI, that the

RE: Uncompressed AVI files give very large data rate
@jak.willis @CubeAce I wouldn't be so sure about the data rate being too high. Uncompressed video does not need decoding. That is why editing it in say MEP is so easy. The program does not have to do any work to decode it, unlike an MP4, where MEP

RE: Uncompressed AVI files give very large data rate
@jak.willis Basically the data rate is too huge for the TVs processor to keep up with, even if it could read an AVI encoded file. Or the usb flash drive is not fast enough which could be another reason. Last but not least, a lot of digital TVs only

RE: Uncompressed AVI files give very large data rate
@jak.willis Correct. There is neither no gain or loss. Any 'lossy' compression codec means exactly that. Some information is irrecoverably lost. Even if you have a camera that records raw, if the camera is set up wrong and either over exposes or

Uncompressed AVI files give very large data rate
Hello, I have a question regarding uncompressed AVI files. When you export a video as uncompressed AVI, why is it that the bit rate is very large? If the original video has a certain bit rate, then why does it get increased dramatically when

    RE: BIT RATE QUESTION
@VideoPro @CubeAce A couple of points, if I may: The MP42 should be no problem for MEP, and it seems to be opening the file OK (because you can get to the Export screen). I've just downloaded a couple of MP42s (with AVI extension) and the video

I thought that might be it, but I've just completed an export into AVI and that worked perfectly. The filesize isn't ideal though!

    RE: ONE video isn't rendering
@MariaEduarda If it's urgent, try exporting to AVI. In Advanced, use the Microsoft Video 1 codec. It renders at 900mb per minute but 3min will be OK. After it's (hopefully) exported, bring that AVI back into MEP and then export as your MP4.

It`s solved already. Thank you. I`ve used the same settings to the output file for both programs. The final clip converted by MEP was not usable. The image trembled. As I`m not using that old .avi file every day, is not a big drama... And VLC can

@Daniel-Buse Hi . . . . the result is not even close to the one converted with VLC . . . . What is the difference? Download an install MediaInfo and analyse one of the AVI clips and post the results in a comment, see this tutorial for how to setup

@johnebaker Greetings John, it seems like only a comparatively few years since I contacted Magix support asking why an MEP MP4 export seemed to be of such poor quality. A tech service person replied saying that they had a lot of problems programming

@me_again @browj2 Hi Andy. You used to get options using the main concept codec but I don't think it exists in MEP 2022. AVI, MPEG Video, and WMV, still have various options but MP4 and HEVC as far as I'm aware have never had options within MEP.

@CubeAce, @browj2 Hi . . . . I'm not aware of any such undertaking for any video formats. . . . . There are archiving standards for media format - however these are either set by a government standards organisation, or by the archiving organisation,

@CubeAce Hi Ray, I have a CD of MEP (Video Deluxe) from about 2001. There were some AVI's on it that I cannot open in more recent MEP or VPX. I presume that it has to be decoded or I would have to use Cinepak. Interesting to see how a common format
