RE: Why doesn't clicking in the Record button start the video "capture" procedure?
Hi This soundslike a driver issue with the Canon DV camera, Win 7 does not have or recognises that the camera is a Canon and has installed generic Microsoft drivers - this would explain why Record == Stop on the camera - the wrong 'translated

Carl: Sorry, that was confusing. In my attempts to get the programme to record I tried a few times. Sometimes I could see the scene in the preview screen after I lined it up. At other times the screen was black and just turned off (went grey like

Dabber, And some MORE info, please... What camera are you using, and which version of MEP? Does your recording window look something like this (my screen shot from VPX not MEP)? I'm a bit confused by what seems a contradiction in your

Why doesn't clicking in the Record button start the video "capture" procedure?
This question is so naive that it belies my 15 or so years of video editing ! I have set up my DV camcorder to record (or capture) some scenes from DV Mini tapes for a video project I am about to make. I have followed the instructions in the

RE: MAgix Edit Pro 17 is not seeing or connecting with my video camcorder
Hi You have to use the supplied software and drivers that came with the camera to import via USB to your computer - see the camera manual pg 44. MEP 17 will not recognise the camera via USB, only by the DV / Firewire / IEE1394 connection which

RE: MAgix Edit Pro 17 is not seeing or connecting with my video camcorder
Hi Which model of Pioneer camera do you have? If it records to hard drive or memory card you should see the camera in Windows Explorer as another drive. In this case navigate to the folders containing the video and copy straight to your

RE: Connecting a Sony camcorder to PC and selecting in Magix
Hi . . . why no drive is selectible under "select drive" on the import screen? . . . IIRC this is not selectable because this import option is for a DV camera connected by Firewire. ( I stand to be corrected on this one.) With a camera that

Hi . . . I can view files ok.. . . Presumably you mean you can see the files using Windows Explorer or Picture Motion Browser (PMB)? If so just copy the files or use PMB to transfer from the camera to a folder on the PC, then using Easy 4

Yes - I have a screen a bit like that with 5 options: DV camera, HDV cameras, Video, Single Frame and Audio then a gap next to audio where screen capture should be.
