@NJKatwoman Hi NJ. It is true and on the forum we have seen some people with problems using USB webcams with Movie Edit Pro. Normally this has been found to be down to the drivers the webcam is using. Some webcams do work apparently but I have no

RE: Need Advice! MEP vs. Vegas vs. Davinci vs. Downgrade
On a less-technical note, I have legal versions of all three editors you mention (Resolve Full Version), albeit older versions. I have legal MEP v17 and VPX V17 and VEGAS 17 and have dipped my toes into all of them for some time. I started with

RE: Capturing Mini DV: Is it possible to adjust the output file type ?
Hey Alwyn - Nice to hear back from you ... Those were test clips - Yes the aspect ration was screwy - I stretched things on the fly ... That will be adjusted. The Audio: most of that original sound (although a nice authentic touch), will be used in

RE: Capturing Mini DV: Is it possible to adjust the output file type ?
Hello Ray and Thank You Yes there's something wrong with the MPEG-2 Export. I think its the codec or incorrect export settings using MEP2013. I doubt its an infection (just the wrong export), or lack of ability using 2013? I'm sure that can be fixed

RE: Capturing Mini DV: Is it possible to adjust the output file type ?
@CarpentersMate Hi Mike. The MPEG-4 file I can open but the MPEG-2 file my browser and security settings insist is an infected file and will not show or download. The MPEG-4 file opened at the correct resolution (about a quarter of the screen real

RE: What am I missing out on by sticking to V17
yes correct I can turn that off - but then it is upside down in normal players and all other editors. And moving forward that is what i will do. But all my legacy footage...problem. And the GoPro Quick app fails to save the rotated files - I see why

RE: What am I missing out on by sticking to V17
@browj2 Hi John . . . . BTW, you have to use Z axis to rotate the clip, not X. . . . . Normally that is correct and is the method @DesertSweeper linked to and tried, . . . . however In the other thread he resolves his issue (rendering upside down)

RE: What am I missing out on by sticking to V17
Thank you for responding - yes it does have a flip option, but I have hundreds of hours of footage already recorded that I am trying to edit. And sadly using the X Axis to flip it, does not help. The moment you right click on the object, or

RE: Capturing Mini DV: Is it possible to adjust the output file type ?
@CarpentersMate Mike, Re QT, yes, we're both right. The Quicktime codec (which MEP 2013 has) is an MPEG 4-type codec and is placed in the MOV container (file extension). The later MEPs do not have that option, although we can export to an Apple

RE: What am I missing out on by sticking to V17
@DesertSweeper Hi . . . . In the other thread he resolves his issue (rendering upside down) by rotating the footage 180 degrees rather than using the mirror button. But that does not work for me - same effects problems where for example a pan lands

Alwyn You mentioned: "QT is just a player, as far as I understand, not a file type" See screen shot: http://www.ww2survivorstories.com/QT-Export.jpg As for storing AVI files, I'd like to check the other captures to see what they really are ... You

RE: What am I missing out on by sticking to V17
I use the GoPro7, and found another user on the forum with the same problem. I am using the older 2017 versions. so they may have fixed this in the later versions like you use. I tried the demo of the latest version but it will not import the Gopro

RE: What am I missing out on by sticking to V17
So I have been focusing on my Movie Edit Pro (Premium V17) and really started enjoying it - it works well and is actually really easy to grasp afterall. Buuut there is one big problem with it (and my equal version of VPX) - most of my footage is

RE: Export from ProX to mp4 file and get a green screen

I spoke too soon. It worked twice then went back to creating a green screen. So I'm outputting as avi for some of the files. This is a project using 4 cameras and recording groups singing a number of Christmas carols, so I'm creating a set of 4

@jak.willis Hello Jak. Where is the link to the original file? So far, I think your main problems are stemming from how you record your footage more than how you are editing it. The lighting is fine but. I think you are videoing objects /characters
