2 gig video becomes 35 gig burn file?

Cannot understand why 2 gigs of video plus the DVD menu template can grow to 35 gigs? The raw recorded files are 2.2 gigs of which I used about 1.98. When I go to burn the burner interface reports that the file is now 34.85 gigs. I have

Hi Run the installation program for Photostory again and do a repair. If this fails to bring back the DVD burner try rolling back system restore to a point in time just before updating the burn routines . This should bring back the DVD

I downloaded the latest Burn Routine as you suggested. It seems that the latest is 2010. It still does not work, and I notice now that the programme does not recognise my DVD Burner. Regards, Gerry
