  @DAVID-BANKS Hi Check in the Windows Settings that Music Maker has access to the microphone and the microphone is set as the Windows default recording device when plugged in. If necessary start with the same Advanced settings I posted earlier. John

  The standard cables fir microphones and guitars are usually monophonic. Look up pictures with the differences between monophonic and stereo audio cables. You'll see that the phone jacks look different.

  In addition, most consumer cassette decks output unbalanced line level (-10dB), via RCA/phono connectors, so feeding a microphone level (-60dB) input would distort.As Poinzy stated, get a USB interface that supports line level. (like one of these)

  Here is a shot of the sound bars working, as stated you can see sound is getting through very slightly even though it is set at maximum. I have disabled the microphone. , .

  I have even tried using seperate jack connected to the Magix converter audio to no avail. Also If the microphone is enabled then external sound records onto the vidoe transfer while capture is taking place.
