RE: Is Xara Designer Pro compatible with MEP2013?
Hi John and Carl, Thank you for helping me through what has turned out to to be more of a nightmare than I thought when I decided not to upgrade my Adobe CS4 suite. I specifically chose Magix MEP2013 Premium because I believe it offers me that

    RE: Better comic word balloon?
FriendlyFloyd, Entirely possible, but with some complications depending on whether you want a custom text ballonn (or any other overlay FX) to be available with one click from an effects menu or not. Everything there is controlled by a .ini file

    RE: Title Effects
Anirban, Here's a quick test just with some still images: The sparkles are on a track below (higher number) than the city lights so that it will appear in front. When the 'black box' effect is applied what is black in the image becomes

    RE: Title Effects
Hi Anirban Alternatively see if there are any suitable video loops here which you can overlay and reduce the transparency to give effects like this.   This is one of the Sparkles loops John

RE: Border / frame around the video clip
@Carl: My Step 2 was redundant. There's no need for the frame's interior to be transparent, as it will be covered completely by the PIP! P.S: Hope is fading for some feedback from the OP... -- Terry, East Grinstead, UK

RE: Border / frame around the video clip
shubert, Two say I can think of: If you want to keep all the video image then use 'Effects' tab >> 'Movement effects. >> 'Size/position and slightly reduce the area. You would then put a background in a higher track (lower number)

RE: Is it possible to do a "freeze frame sequence" effect in MEP?
Sorry I'd not watched all the way through as the beginning instructions had a direct parallel in MEP. Their example is relatively easy as the bike rider is seen against evenly blue sky. In MEP you would again use a movement effect but this time

RE: Hey there, Is it possible to change completly the background of a video when editting and if so, How please?
I think Georg's suggestion makes an interesting effect but won't selectively remove the background. As the video level  is adjusted the clip becomes more transparent everywhere. Complete removal of a background pretty much requires planning and

RE: Menus - How Can I Use A Plain Background?
Hi Sparky, I've never found a single tutorial or manual that covers MEP DVD menu authoring comprehensively. Magix documentation in general has never been a strong point anyway, largely I suspect because of German/English translation difficulties.

RE: how do i align a series of still images and turn them into a time lapse
Hi, I would create a grid, or download one put it on a track below where the photos are, since the grid will likely have black lines on a white background you will need to use chroma key to eliminate the white so that you just have the lines.

Hi Jay, I'm away using my iPad right now. But I'll summarise the exact steps you need to take below. If I don't hear back from you that you've succeeded, I'll illustrate it when I get back to my PC in an hour or so. It's really very simple (once

RE: Movie Edit Pro2013-White box present using Title-Fonts with BG after exported?
Hi Guy, I assume you mean 'HG' not 'BG'? And I assume you're exporting with the 'Windows Media Export' type? I get no white box with Fonts with HG, so perhaps it's an issue with your settings? Here are mine: Or for better quality, with

Guy, I've had a further look at how MEP does this using ''Text Appears" and have made progress but sorry can't do much more right now. So far... 'Text appears' is a package deal with some setting designed I'd say to prevent the casual user

    RE: New to Magix
The best I've been able to do so far is to make a separate white border with a transparent interior and position that around the PIP. But it needs to be a rather thicker border than that shown in your example, to ensure that the corners of the PIP

Guy, I don't see your problem here, or in an export: If I change the Chroma key setting for the 'trans area' object from white to black (under 'Effects' >> 'Video effects' >> 'Chroma key') I do get a big semi transparent white
