Rather than waste any more discs if you do as Scenestealer suggests and use AC-3 audio you should avoid any problems irrespective of which Player/TV combination you use.

Ok yes very good I will try that. It might well be my system that is causing the lag in scrubbing as it is rather an old system and am looking to update it at some point soon. But for standard Definition it is working very good considering its age.
