  Record on Samplitude Music Studio 2014 in mono

  Hi, You have to record in stereo, not mono. If you plug in a mic to the left channel on the scarlett 2i2 focusrite and say a guitar to the right channel, then when you record, the mic will record to the left channel and the guitar to the right

  Hi Derek, Let's get the jargon right. An object is something that is on the timeline, not something that you choose. You want to create an object. For example, if you record your voice or guitar into SMS, there will be an object on the timeline.

  I have music maker mx, I have done all that, I can hear my guitars clean signal, and it does record, but it doesn't add any fx until after once I play the recording back, I am pretty sure I should be able to hear the fx while I record on playback.

  Hi, No, not at all. The instruments are for midi files. An MP3 file is an audio file. It is a recording of sound, so it is impossible to transform a guitar soumd into a flute.
