RE: Magix 16 is turning the volume down when recording instruments.
I have had problems like that using Vista where the Op system was not handling the audio drivers right. I contacted the program developer for a patch. Maybe 7 has the same issue with Magix. Contact tech support.

Search your main drive for a folder called "Basics_16". It would be helpful to others if you told us which OS (operating system, eg. Windows Vista, etc.) you are using. It's possible different OS's are storing files in different locations.
