RE: No Video preview when transferring VHS tape to windows harddrive
@Moose @AAProds No apologies necessary. Few of the members answering questions here are under 65. You should be able to alter the quality settings of the recording section somewhere. Again AAProds may be able to help more on that one. If I'm to

@nicolesharp100, @Former user Hi . . . . I used 1080p60 MP4 with everything default settings except GOP Structure set to Auto (I don't know what this is), Profile set to High, Level set to 5.2 (I don't know what this is), Coding Quality set to Best,

@FF22 I wouldn't have two projects for the same trip: just set up two "movies" in the one project. Here, I renamed the "first" movie (your Youtube) and have clicked on the Movie Details dropdown so you can see the options available. Click the "+"

@AAProds  This is the video on my TV & Panasonic Recorder. When the picture’s size is reduced, like you see in the attached image, the video quality looks much sharper and more like the original. But when you play it like normal with it filling

    RE: Question regarding video upscaling
@jak.willis So when exporting the 544x576 video in 1920x1080, MEP won’t be upscaling it to that resolution during the encoding process? Only if you do as I described earlier: create a 1920x1080 movie, then import your video. Use the Size and

RE: An error has occurred during export with an external video codec
@tami-0 That sounds logical. 28,000kbps, I think, is pretty high for a 1920x1080 video, so go with that. At some point, pumping more bitrate into a video won't achieve much improvement, which is what he was alluding to with the comment

@nicolesharp100 Exporting now the settings in your pic above, 6000-8000 is a bit low, I already exported the higher one in my pics 28000-35000, I'll get back to you in a minute or two, I have MS2023 I'll try that also but as far as i know the

@AAProds Hi Al. It doesn't matter to me or you but I don't presume to know what @Mimi-Steel needs or wants quality wise. Why chose 5k for recording when 4k or lower could have been chosen? Another is 5k may not be possible recording on the Go-Pro

RE: Movie Studio 2023 vs Vegas Edit 20
@CubeAce Ray, thanks for your reply. I still don't quite understand what you mean about flexibility of track layouts. It's easy to place video and audio on adjacent tracks. I do it all the time. And the full waveform in Vegas is "clearer" than

RE: import video clips from one MEP Project into the other?
@kate-m Assuming that by the words edited tracks you actually mean edited and exported tracks (i.e., a "new" video containing all the wanted parts of your clips), simply import each one, in the order you wish to use them (although, clearly, you can

RE: An error has occurred during export with an external video codec
@Former user Re MPEG 2 vs MPEG 4, I think the proof is in the pudding: MPEG 2 is simply not used these days because it is so inefficient. Everybody does MPEG 4. I contend that for the same file size, an MPEG 4 render will be far better than a MPEG 2

@Reyfox My copy of the Original Cubase VST had much tighter MIDI control and still handled multiple audio tracks and soft synths on a 23 bit operating system, but that was in a time when the programs were built better and not compiled on code upon

@emmrecs Hi Jeff. That sounds like it needs its own manual. I will have a look at the VPX 14 manual and see what it says, if anything. I do sometimes find it odd what Magix decides to add or take away. I miss the ability in VPX to decide the quality

Upon closer examination @hernan65c, you are correct, when 'Save' is executed, an existing 320-44.1k MP3 does re-encode to 256kbs, which must have been the default. I experienced the same behavior in Sound Forge Pro 10, 11, 13 and 14. I suspect Pro

RE: An error has occurred during export with an external video codec
@tami-0 I'm assuming your source file/s are 1920x1080, 29.97, Progressive. Please advise if they aren't. An MPEG 4 file at the same size as an MPEG file will be better quality, so I'd suggest MPEG 4. To achieve a "compression ratio" of 1.2, do this

    RE: Question regarding video upscaling
@jak.willis Hi, a video or picture image is made up of tiny dots called pixels, when you upscale an image those pixels get spread apart & would leave gaps but your software fills them in using the nearest pixels, Any upscale of a video/picture

    RE: Question regarding video upscaling
@CubeAce Ray, from a post on page 1: "This is the video on my TV & Panasonic Recorder." I don't agree with you about screen captures (not that that is relevant here). OBS is nightmare to set up. Magix isn't "soft" if you use a decent capture

RE: SFPro 16.1.2/Windows locks up for a while when saving files
A music file is much more complex than voice. In my tests, even a mono 44.1k 320 kbs CBR MP3 narration file was essentially a mirror image, and when combined with the PCM master, canceled in excess of -120 dBFS. That does not mean an additional

@Former user @tami-0 Hi Gid. Just off to bed now 😉 Not sure. There does seem to be a 600GB upload limit as well. I find the upload specs a bit confusing myself as it also says Potentially acceptable 15MBit/s for HD, Does that mean a lower bit rate
