RE: why won't .vob files import corectly into Movie Edit Pro 14?
There could be a number of things going on. What created the DVD, was it store bought or burned from a different program? Is the DVD in a NTSC or PAL format I am assuming NTSC if your are in the Americas, but asking just the

why won't .vob files import corectly into Movie Edit Pro 14?
I am trying to bring video from a DVD into MEP 14Plus so that I can clean up the audio. After importing the 4 .VOB files found in the folder that is on the DVD I find that the last three dont play back correctly. The audio cuts out about 1 minute

Want to drag a track -- very basic concept. Why is something so fundamental buried (or not even available)?
Trying to move beyond Pinnacle.  have an old version of MEP (14) and glad to be able to lay multiple tracks on top of one another.  HOWEVER, the simple act of dragging one track eludes me.  Some websites say "click + drag!" but this doesn't

MEP (14 specifically) Can the (static) menu compositions be adjusted or customized ?
I am creating a project with MEP 14.  I am using a still photo (.jpg) for the disc menu background.  I am using composition 4/3 for the menu structure.  Unfortunately the menu text is placed too far from the actual button itself.  I would like to

Did you get the message that the product was registered when you first tried to register it or after? Your question infers that you have recently purchased MEP14, if so was it a brand new sealed box and unregistered?   You can also email

LaHawaiian, Should be no problem leaving older versions installed. I've got MEP14+ coexisting with MEP 17+ ( and VPX as well). The format of the project files is different -- MVD vs MVP files but there is an option under the file menu to

    Various questions about this site
I joined the magix.info site 4 years ago but didn't find it useful. I'm now returning because our English speaking forum at http://support2.magix.net/boards/magix/index.php?showforum=113 is sadly closing. So I'm essentially a novice

RE: compatibility between movie edit pro 14 plus and pro 17 plus
Hi Stacygirl You will be able to import MEP14 projects into MEP17, however once you have saved the project in 17 you will not be able to import it back into 14 - the project file formats are different - make a backup copy of the project

How can I get MEP to burn as a Limited User Account
I am using MEP 14 (with the latest updates) on a Windows XP Pro SP3 system.  It was working OK on an old PC.  I got a new PC and installed MEP on the new PC (as an administrator).  I registered the MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and DOLBY features and they

    RE: burning dvd
Hi Eileen, the million dollar question is, what version of MEP have you got. The initial MEP 15 wasn't really Win 7 compatible, but will work, 14 and less certainly wasn't, so it may be time to update to a new MEP  17 that is actually Win 7

RE: How to move chapters over to another page to fit where other chapter markers are?
shadow13524,   Can't say for MEP16 but for 14 & 17 the procedure seems to be to first select a default layout to get your background, font, borders & buttons, and then go to 'Composition' (MEP14+) or 'Order' (MEP17+) to choose the

Are there less effects in Movie Edit Pro 17 than earlier versions had?
I did a tutorial on creating ghosts and explosions. The person doing the tutorial had version 14 of MEP. He put in one effect that was included as part of version 14. It was called Dynamite. I can't find that effect in version 17. I also couldn't

More...   There used to be a 16 vs 16+ page but that gone now that 17 is out. Not sure about 14 & Win7; it came out before 7 IIRC. The other forum had some discussion but it's hard to tell what is an OS problem rather  than a machine

RE: video sound cleaning lab vs audio cleaning lab
Hi there. Well, Video Sound Cleaning Lab is of course the option to get at the audio track in a video.  In MEP 14 Plus, the file when imported is already split into video and audio. You could then export the track into ACL 17 and clean it up,

Seamus,   I've never had any problems leaving older versions as they are. Each one is not so much an 'upgrade' but rather a complete new program*. The only real upgrades are the occasional patches that get applied and are reflected in the
