RE: SF 14 Pro Disappointing for Digitizing Vinyl
To me "digitizing vinyl (or shellac)" means ripping the medium to 24/48 or 24/96, doing some noise reduction, then saving the file. I don't think even Izotope RX will let you do more than that.

SF 14 Pro Disappointing for Digitizing Vinyl
I've been using Sound Forge Audio Studio 12 (ver 12.6 Build 356 64 bit) for years to digitize vinyl records (among other things). It has decent noise reduction tools and plugins, an MP3 ID3 tag editor, and an option in the Save-as menu to save "cd

RE: MEP2013 Plus - Missing DB Volume Levels?
@CarpentersMate Hi That is odd!. . . . . Only way to monitor audio level is thru my monitors or view the tiny LED meter to the left of each track .. . . . How about using the Mixer meters - they are much larger. An alternative would be to install

RE: Framesize settings for Video 8/Hi8 capture - both in 4:3 and 16:9
@shgrude I assume Camcorders work on the same principle as DSLRs. In which case a 16:9 ratio is a digital crop of the 4:3 sensor. So in effect less photosites are recorded from in the 16:9 image so the top and bottom are effectively gone. The only

RE: Extremely Slow Rendering (Hardware acceleration not working?)
@GarciaFigueres Hi Garcia. Variable bit rate is fine. Variable frame rate is not. OBS studio is a free screen recorder that can produce a Constant frame rate video file from game play. The Media Information from your supplied file looks like

Framesize settings for Video 8/Hi8 capture - both in 4:3 and 16:9
A question to John E Baker: @johnebaker There are a few threads currently regarding which framesize is best to use for capturing old video footage into digital storage. I have some myself that I have captured in VPX or MEP (not sure which - I have

RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis Unless I am exporting only to DVD and the source material is DVD quality or worse, I use 16:9, full HD (1920x1080) as my project settings. I do not normally shoot 4k and, like you, I am using mostly old material that is full HD or

@Jim_H, @browj2, @Scenestealer, @AAProds Hi I have to agree with all Peter has said in his last comment, in particular . . . . you can not improve picture quality . . . . I would add that VHS has a digital equivalent resolution of 330 x 480 px

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H If you rendered them into an AVI format (as opposed to DV-AVI) they will be bigger. DV-AVI is 13gb/hour, whereas for example Lagarith (a lossless AVI format), is 30gb per hour. It will be better quality than a comparable DV-AVI export. In

RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis @browj2 @johnebaker Hi Richard. I know more than a few here like to use keyboard shortcuts but when it comes resizing using the Size Position tool I prefer to drag the image on the screen up or down until I get it to where I want it.

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H Hi, First, do not export to AVI; this will just give you huge files and no benefit. If you need an intermediate, use Magix format, mxv. It will give you smooth editing in MEP. Secondly, I am presently digitizing some VHS cassettes - directly

RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis Hi, I do not recommend using Section for what you want to do. Section cannot be keyframed. When you import a video clip or photo, MEP will try to fit it to the window of the project, the first one of height or width to reach the

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H Hi Jim. When you start off with a source that has little fine detail in it to begin with you don't want any possible further loss of any detail left from the transfer or you would lose detail again at the end stage after editing. Most file

RE: Intel driver update is up to date but Magix says no
I use a utility called Sledghammer to stop updates. It's found in My Digital Life forums. As for a Group Editor for Core ("Home") editions, there is a gpedit in github. I've played with it, but not made any changes with it.
