Deinstall current Movie Edit Pro before Installing next version?
I work with Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus and am soon going to upgrade to Movie Edit pro 17 Plus.  I'm mainly interested in the 24p and HDV functions of the newer version.   My Laptop PC runs Vista Ultimate 32 bit.  It's a Duo Core

RE: How can you get sound when previewing a clip from soundpool before importing it. I tend to just get visual unless it's an audio file or has previously been imported?
The method john-auvil described for previewing the sound of video clips works in MEP14+ as well. It seems necessary however to have 'Extract sound from videos' ticked under 'File' >> 'Program settings' >> 'Video/Audio' tab. I'd alway

RE: How do I creat a blank Object so I can have a "title' page to which I can put text.
dalaver,   You can simply put in a plain black image, eg .jpg or .bmp, using any photo editor eg Magix Photo Designer or Windows Paint. They all have a 'fill' tool, usually a paint bucket icon, to make the entire area any color you

RE: How do you end a movie in Movie Edit Pro 12?
blueswoody,   When you say 'playback reaches the end...' what are you playing, and what is playing it?   If it's your timeline project being previewed in MEP I don't think there is any choice -- same behavior in MEP14+, but VPX

RE: Where can I get / find the contents of __Demo folder for MEP 17?
Thanks for your reply, but : No you don't.   All you get are "Introductory Videos", which consists of 'Tutorial and Mini-clips"   I guess they are limiting what you can do with the Trial Download version, but rather than spend

RE: How to import MP4 video file (720p, 60 fps) into Edit Pro 15
kpeoctat,   Suprised there's a problem... I can simply drag a mp4 file into MEP14+ and that's an older version. I do get a promt for conversion to a format for easier editing but that can be ignored. Is the issue with a particular file, maybe

    RE: View
magicmello,   Depending on your program version you should have several 'modes' for editing -- overview, scene, timeline and multi camera. In timeline mode you will have 16 or more (some versions up to 99!) horizontal tracks on which to place

Help; my copy of MEP 17+ is STILL not working!!!!! Problems include with Program Monitor (both small & full screen)
Hi, I first posted a question on 18th March about the new (upgrade) copy of MEP 17+ that I'd just purchased from Amazon (I previously used MEP 14, which wasn't perfect but mostly worked quite well). I received the software as a CD in a box

    RE: converted analogue video
ccp000cpc,   Thanks for the reply. Trying to take a one minute chunk just drags the whole movie to another timeline. "open using MEP" from hard drive produces the same effect as importing from camcorder i.e. no scene

    RE: converted analogue video
donhargreaves,   First, the Sony site and others describe your camera as 'Full-featured compact Digital 8 Handycam', which I'd already suspected if you are downloading via firewire.   Scene recognition works for me in both MEP14+

RE: How do I make scrolling title with 2 lines only?
Choose the tab Title and General. Click in the monitor and write in f. i. LiNE1 and LINE2. Then f.i. 10-15 or more Enters, and then LINE 3 and LINE 4. At Animation, click From bottom to top. Try this. Or make a small Text field with f.i. LINE1

Help! My "program monitor" keeps freezing! (I've just upgraded to MEP 17+)
I've just bought a copy of Edit Pro 17+ having previously used Edit Pro 14 for the last couple of years. My first impression was that the interface seemed very familiar (especially when editing in 'timeline') so I shouldn't have too much trouble

    Do MPEG4 codecs expire?
Bought & activated the MPEG4 encoder for Movie Edit Pro 14 in Nov. 2009.  Things worked smoothly.  I am currently trying to work with files from a Samsung video camera which records in "MPEG-4 Movie (.MP4)" format.  I get no sound upon

wick1366,   Sorry I don't have MEP17+ to directly answer your question, but I've been doing selective area effects since MEP 14 or earlier.   The set up is a set of three tracks (ignoring audio): original clip, clip with effects

So, you downloaded the video from YouTube, or you are uploading the video to YouTube? I am trying to determine the source of the video material, to see if there might be a relationship for this, perhaps this video requires the audio to be

I really miss curves from MEP14 and earlier, what is the equivalent in MEP15, 16, 17?
On a video track it says X-pos Y-pos Width Height.  Can I access the curves behind them?  Under MEP14 and earlier I could.  On MEP 15,16,17 it's a tease, I can't make the curves show on the track.  But those words on the track imply that there is
