    RE: Lagarith Lossless Codec
@jak.willis Video compression is a compromise with size. The more compressed a video is, the more data has been "thrown away" as well as more complex encoding with various types of frames, as Cubeace has described). LAGS is one of the so-called

RE: MEP not showing full length of video files
@jak.willis Greetings, Now - apologies if I appear a little vague here but I'm trying to remember a conversation I had with a LG technical person some years ago when I had a similar sort of issue with an LG DVD recorder when I dropped down a

RE: MME and WDM drivers record audio with high pitched hiss in Samplitude
@Denis_K Hi, Did you try importing the video into Samplitude Pro X and then monitoring it while you record in Samplitude? That way you will have an audio file in sync with the video. This is how dubbing is normally done with Samplitude. Samplitude

    RE: Feedback in Record Mode
@Tano What, then, would you say is the proper use of the Record function using audio or mic input? Just voice dubbing? Essentially, yes, for the "mic" option, in my opinion. The app is called Sound Forge Audio Cleaning and those bolded words are the

    RE: Feedback in Record Mode
Jeff, You said in an earlier post that: "Basically, SFACL is more designed, in its Recording facility, to record the output of, say, a CD player, where the connection between player and recorder is "direct" and the computer mic is not needed." What,

RE: Activation of New Blue Filters 5 Ultimate
@bjtap Thanks Barry, The plugins are for things like Virtual Dub plugins. I think the process is failing right at the start for me and Graham; the activation code won't work so the installation, which gives you what you see, doesn't occur.

RE: No video object for m2ts file. (And stutters on audio only playback.)
@pmikep I have also been battling with .TS files. I recorded a streamed YT video (saved as a TS) and had all sorts of dramas with it; not one program (MEP, VideoRedo, VLC, Virtual Dub) on my my machine would open it; the HDD light just stayed on

@bvolbeda Here is the bug as shown to Magix. Feel free to link to this when you raise a ticket with Magix. If no one complains, nothing gets fixed. The current version of VPX/MEP is trying to load the HDP file instead of the wave files, which only

Many thanks for all your suggestions, most of which I had tried. I gave up in disgust last night, came in this morning and the audio dubbing is working well. It must be Magic!!

    Audio Dubbing no sound
I have used audio dubbing to supply a commentary very often. Suddenly the dubbed sound does not appear on the video I am editing. The sound level on the record screen shows the correct volume variation but nothing is recorded. What do I do?

RE: please install the following codec to decode the format 'DV25'.
@JyrkiTapani-Lehikoinen Assuming you're capturing VHS or similar with your Dazzle, we need to know what codec Pinnacle is using. Is your DV25 AVI file the capture file, or have you converted the capture to it? If Pinnacle is capturing as DV25, you

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H If you rendered them into an AVI format (as opposed to DV-AVI) they will be bigger. DV-AVI is 13gb/hour, whereas for example Lagarith (a lossless AVI format), is 30gb per hour. It will be better quality than a comparable DV-AVI export. In

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H My pleasure, Jim. Can't help with the settings; it depends a lot on the source VHS eg if it's dark, increase the brightness/contrast. Washed-out colour, crank up the saturation (although a lot of this can be done in MEP after you have

@AAProds Hi Alwyn . . . .Virtual Dub gives me a 8 or 16 bit audio option . . . .   IMHO CD quality is the minimum quality I would aim for - ie 16 bit depth. Bit depth refers to the number of bits used to describe 1 sample of for example a 48kHz

    RE: Big AVIs-Displaying Audio Waveform
@johnebaker @Scenestealer @CubeAce A related question: Virtual Dub gives me a 8 or 16 bit audio option. What would be the best for MEP? Is the "bit' value only related to bandwidth/file size (and therefore, I assume, quality)? In this example, the

    Big AVIs-Displaying Audio Waveform

Thankyou for your prompt reply. You are right, Magix is the company name. What I am trying to do is open up Sound Forge 12.6 to retrieve an album of songs I recorded, overdubbed in Music Maker. The way music Maker works I think, is to assign tracks

nothing would beat Uncompressed or Lossless Lagarith if you could stick the enormous amounts of storage it would chew up to capture 3x 2hour tapes. @Scenestealer Gday Peter, Lagarith Lossless is 30gb her hour, so not a tall ask, storage-wise, these
