  Hi Terry I too am beginning to suspect it may be a problem with the graphics card acceleration / drivers as you have mentioned. As we are on the same longitude and I am 'Up North'  I think we can rule out phases of the moon John

  DVC PRO PAL.mov ????? c'moon do something , update, codec pack .. 99% of the WORLD DANCE VIDEOS I receive are in this format !!!

  Hi John I think I may have solved it although I don't know why it worked. I changed the drive letter on my external drive that I have always used for editing from drive P to drive Q and all of a sudden my files are fully accessible. Very strange
