RE: Deadlock
@Chrilles Hi Christian. It is as me and John suspected. The problem lies with the second file type. It is variable frame rate and varies wildly in frame speed. From your second file. Frame rate mode : VariableFrame

@johnebaker Hi John. Duplicated your result. I guess you can tell which one is which. Using 4K footage. Ray.

RE: my version and Mercalli v5 suite
@johnebaker Hi John. Thank you for the correction on Dof. I meant it is beyond the operators control within the camera. We did discuss it earlier. I'm not happy about the correction of that either within the plug-in bearing in mind I only have

@Scenestealer Hi Peter. The lens parallel to the ground yes, but the eyepiece would be at right angles unless you had the ability to move it or have a swivel screen. Sorry for any confusion. How would you describe a shot that is in focus from near

@CubeAce Hi Ray Because verticals, unless the camera is always pointing at right angles to the ground, shimmer and wobble if it is corrected by such means. You mean - always parallel to the ground don't you, and are you sure this is not partly due

@Scenestealer Hi Peter. Because verticals, unless the camera is always pointing at right angles to the ground, shimmer and wobble if it is corrected by such means. It's a parallax problem with the depth of field altering the rate of off vertical

GOING SO SLOWLY
Hello. I have editing my film successfully for a couple of months, but have noticed that the process is slowing down. Everytime I complete an edit, however small, the program seems to freeze for 20-30 seconds. This is making the project impossible.

@Kris-Roberson Hi I do not have Handbrake installed at the moment, however for future OBS recordings try these settings or @CubeAce settings in the next post down. John EB

RE: Removing object from video eg head and superimposing another on top
@AA4362 Hi. To do this with movie footage in MEP you would need a plug-in like Silhouette Very computer intensive and not cheap. Ray.

RE: How do you or even can you, Stitch 360 GoPro Fusion Video Files?
@Scenestealer @John-Merk Hi Peter. I'm glad you also read the footnotes 😉 My take on it is that the footage has to be converted using the GoPro Fusion Studio before bringing it into another editor for further refinement or it can't be done. That

@CubeAce Hi Ray Thanks for that Intel link - Very interesting! It highlights the points that you and the rest of us stalwarts have been banging on about in regards to the need to keep our hardware and software "up to the minute" to handle the

@johnebaker@johnebaker Thanks for that explanation John. I didn't realize about the frame count problem. Possibly discussed before my time? I'll admit I don't personally see the point in 12 hour + duration videos unless they are security camera

Ray, TANKS is exactly it. If the layering effect can be done with a font, it can be done with a random shape. I’ll have to experiment...another tool in the chest to find new uses for legacy footage. Thanks so much, Mike

@mkro Hi Mike. Is the main background a static shot in as much as the camera angle doesn't move? You say the shapes are set with the cookie cutter, which is correct but instead try using the mask section and the size /position and warp tools

Thanks, Ray. Here's a crude example from a video I'm working on. Cut a freeform hole in track 2 (Controlling track) which will allow track 1 to show through. Another case: I want to cut out a door from track 2 and show track one in the opening. In

@Kris-Roberson I would try recording directly into MEP if you can as it is unlikely MEP would record in a format that it can not handle during editing. I have lost some of the original footage and have had to reshoot to get a clean clip. I can't
