RE: How to import video clip with invalid file extensions?
68009194, I don't have Video Easy to test, but the Magix web documents don't describe imports from DVD as a regular option. I'd guess you can do so if you change the extensions. VOB files are MPG format files, usually of a fixed maximum size

RE: Magix Pro 16 crashes reliably when editing titles. Magix Pro 17 cursor doesn't move.
I am not sure about the crashlog, I do not know how to read those, you would need to send that into the MAGIX Support. I added a folder to my desktop called "STUFF" to see if it would rename it in the program, but it didnt, when I open

RE: import DAT file not available in magix movie edit pro 17
Joosten, Never had a *.dat file so only guessing... Wiki article on video file formats says "MPEG-1 is found in a .DAT file on a video CD". There is a chance simply renaming your *.dat to *.mpg might do the trick. As to program

How can I export a track to MIDI in Music Maker 16 without saving to NILSTRING.MID
Before anyone asks, I already know about the "copy and rename" trick, but for some reason whenever I make a new composition in the MIDI editor, it simply won't overwrite the NILSTRING.MID file, thus making this trick impossible to complete. Is

RE: Can't save project under Movie Edit Pro 16
Added: Before you give up... MEP should have been creating automatic backup files named 'whatever_your_name_BAK0.MV_', BAK1, BAK2 etc. See if you can move the most recent of them -- and all your recources, clips, images, etc

RE: ive lost all my movie. there is no bottom bar and it just says EMPTY when i try to edit it
111sam1, Check in the folder where you projects are saved. You should find some auto created backup files named 'yourname_BAK0.MV_', (and BAK1, BAK2 etc) where yourname is the name you gave to save the file. Simply rename, or

RE: My Movie Edit Pro 17 hangs up when I try to open it. The page indicates that the software is "Initializing Media." but it just hangs up. I can't get past that opening page.
If MEP is hanging while starting search for videodeluxe.ini and trash (or rename) it. Then try again.

Trash the videodeluxe.ini (or rename it to whatelse) and start the project. Does it help?

RE: Movie Edit Pro Plus 17 hangs during start up
I had the same problem. When I pressed Alt-Tab I could se a error message with the text "Windows Visual C++ runtime library". That didn't helped me much but searching for message gave me the sulotion. I renamed the Magix map under Documents.

RE: How do you export tracks as MIDI?
The famous NILSTRING.MID gets overwritten in the following address: C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music_Maker_16_Premium\Synth\Revolta 2\NILSTRING.MID You can duplicate and rename it to use with other software.

losttribe, I've easily been more than a bit confused between project and movie names and keeping track of exactly what I'm saving, but certainly a project 'saved as' has always kept its name. I'd suggest doing some housekeeping --

Using the Export MIDI option in the MIDI Editor saves the current work as a file named nostring.mid on the Desktop. Is there any way to choose a different file name (such as mysave_1) and, for example, a folder in My Documents (Save as...)?

RE: import a dvd in video_ts.vob
Copy the .VOB-files to the harddisk. If you are going to edit from 2 or more DVD's at the same time, it could be a good idea to rename them, as they have the same name on all DVD's. Then find the files in the Media Pool and drag them down to
