Hello I have MMM14 PE. I can't seem to import via the file menu

There isn't a midi import line in the file menu. I can only drag a midi file into the track. However my real problem is I can't separate the tracks when I want to edit an exisyting midi file. It only lets me drack onto one track Please help.
