RE: Saving videos question (Saving YouTube vids to PC for later)
@Eric-Elliott Ok, Thank you for the tip about not using MS to load to YT. I wanted to load direct thru my browser anyway. Good 👍 As for YT video options, I don't trust it. I'd rather wait and be good and ready to load it public. I would first load

RE: Magix Video Resolutions Incorrect?
Here's were misnomers start, Vegas has UHD & 4k, UHD is either Portrait or Landscape, both are 3840 x 2160 (16:9) or vice versa 4K is only in portrait mode but is 2304 x 4096 which is 9:16 🤷♂️😂

RE: Saving videos question (Saving YouTube vids to PC for later)
@Eric-Elliott Ok, If you're not interested in the other stuff you mention below what is it you don't trust? I don't trust YT to keep it private, at least for long. Don't worry about that if as I say you're not interested in the other stuff like

RE: How to remove the black bars in a vertical video
@Piotr- In addition to @CubeAce comment/questions, if you are wanting to put a 9:16 (portrait) aspect ratio video into a 16:9 (landscape) project and have it displayed as 16:9 then you are going to have to do some heavy sectioning of the video to

RE: Can Not Export 4k or Higher Video in Portrait + MPEG-4 Issues
@AAProds Hi Al. As I really started this hobby some time back in the early days of digital photography when the cameras really did not have video, when video was eventually available I did shoot some footage in a portrait orientation if the subject

RE: "Wrong" 4:3 images should have been 16:9 to fil TV screen
THANKS. I've been playing and I think most of my questions below have been answered but will need more time to play. I think I even like how some of the PORTRAIT images have cropped to 16:9 Horizontal. Does not seem to affect mp4 video segments. I

RE: Can Not Export 4k or Higher Video in Portrait + MPEG-4 Issues
@Purbear @AAProds @browj2 I love the portrait landscape argument / debate. I find it amazing how it can be accepted in one art format but not another dependent on personal experience and historic context. Artists and photographers have always used

RE: Best movie format using old DV media footage
@JeffB2310 Sorry, I'm a bit late to the party. To comment on the previous posts: Movie Settings I suggest you make these in 4:3 format. If you make the movie settings 16:9, you will be adding black side bars, because your 4:3 video shouldn't be

"Wrong" 4:3 images should have been 16:9 to fil TV screen
Okay, ages ago it was suggested to use the entire camera sensor, that is 4:3 and then selectively edit to 16:9. BUT now I have all of these 4:3 images which show up, well, as a smaller image on my 16:9 TV. Is there a simple (always looking for

RE: "Wrong" 4:3 images should have been 16:9 to fil TV screen
I want to thank folks for the continued discussion. As I understand it Faststone photo editor has an option to crop to 16:9 in a lossless process. So presumably there would be no loss of resolution only the chopping of what *I* would consider less

@AAProds Hi Al. Thanks for the conformation about what NeatVideo is capable of. I wasn't sure. I don't know if you are aware but Google is running YouTube at a loss. Mainly due to storage space and some content providers that supplied 4K video

Manipulating Still Images
Is there a MAGIX Community group that focuses on manipulating still images? For example, I would like to include a video moving down a portrait image that is displayed full width. I am using Movie Edit Pro 2015 on Windows 10. Thank you, Peter

RE: "Wrong" 4:3 images should have been 16:9 to fil TV screen
@FF22 Forget this "use the entire sensor" and them crop them accordingly. I wouldn't worry about that. It is merely marketing blurb... "we made this great 4:3 sensor and you don't want to use the top and bottom? Shock horror!" they say. The fact of

RE: New Project BUT what Movie Settings should I select?
@Former user Hi Gid. You are correct. Seeing George mention it was shot in portrait mode I switched the numbers in my head just to get the correct ratio. It comes from shooting a lot of still photography. I do it without conscious thought. The same

RE: New Project BUT what Movie Settings should I select?
@Xenofex2 Hi George, For me, it depends on what I want as a final result, with due consideration given to the source format(s). If I want to watch this on a full screen, like a telly, then I'll use 16;9 (1920X1080). I am not going to turn the telly

RE: New Project BUT what Movie Settings should I select?
@Xenofex2, @Former user Hi George, Gid See this tutorial on working with 9:16 AR video. Gid . . . . it can't be 9:16 if the width 848 (always width 1st) is more than the height 480. . . . . It can, the video has a 90° rotation flag to indicate that

RE: New Project BUT what Movie Settings should I select?
@Former user Hi Gid . . . . the op saying it was portrait there's no mention of a 90º flag? . . . . A MediaInfo analysis would show the rotation flag value, as we do not have the results of an analysis it is valid assumption that, as George

RE: New Project BUT what Movie Settings should I select?
@Xenofex2 Glad it's worked George. When in doubt, Gid was sort of correct, the first number is always width but a smaller number first would always indicate it is shot in portrait. Hence my first ratio number was smaller than the second number and

Hi sorry i quit this convo, i had to go to work & it was irritating me, @johnebaker apart from the op saying it was portrait there's no mention of a 90º flag? @CubeAce mention that it was 9:16 was wrong, 848 x 480 is closer to 16:9 than 9:16 but

RE: Image rotation
@Spike Hi Pete. If you are using size position to get portrait video to fit then you must manually add that to the key editor or it will change size. I have to do it to both ends of a clip to keep its relative size and position. I don't recall
