RE: Loudness in Acid vs Soundcloud
I know I can get the tracks mastered professionally but was wondering if there was another way. In this sort of case I always think of the advice I read from a sound engineer. If it is too quiet or loud for you please use your volume control. The

Loudness in Acid vs Soundcloud
Can anyone help me with this? My tracks sound nice and loud and clear in Acid. On the Master I'm using the MAGIX limiter on the Dance moderate loudness preset which brings the level right up to -0.1 and there is no distortion. But when I upload to

RE: Any problems to expect if upgrading CPU/MB/ and operating system?
@johnebaker Hi John. 1 & 2: I never have windows sounds on but I was wrong about one thing I posted earlier. The mouse is making sounds on either screen but only when a program screen is active. Even right clicking the mouse on a screen to

RE: Any problems to expect if upgrading CPU/MB/ and operating system?
@johnebaker Hi John. I don't disagree that larger fans are quieter and my fans are only 3" but they are very quiet and running on a monitored speed controller. If I'm working with no sound on in my room I can hear my smartphone text 'microwave ping'

RE: Any problems to expect if upgrading CPU/MB/ and operating system?
@browj2@browj2 First, fans can suffer from dust I agree but on average seem the most robust of components. I have more fans than I know what to do with so I rotate them taking some out and replacing them with ones I've cleaned. I don't do it that

RE: Any problems to expect if upgrading CPU/MB/ and operating system?
@yvon-robert Hi YR. I understand and appreciate that for a lot of people, buying a new PC may be a preferred option which I have no objection to, but building your own has benefits of a better choice of components at cheaper prices a well as a

RE: Question about volume & sounds
@Mitch-way06 Hi . . . . How would you suggest I go about making the background sound closer to the foreground, as you say? . . . . If the background sounds are separate audio files from the foreground audio then try the method I described

@Mitch-way06 Hi . . . . I was wondering whether there is something you’re meant to do to make it so that the quiet sounds can still be heard when listening with a lower volume. Like if it’s late at night and other people in the house are asleep,

RE: Question about volume & sounds
@Mitch-way06 You want to use compression. See this thread where we discussed it recently. This applies where both the loud and soft audio are in the same object. From the manual, with compression, "loud passages become quieter and the total value

RE: Question about volume & sounds
@Mitch-way06 Hi . . . . Does normalising mean that you will still be able to hear the quiet sounds . . . . To clarify with two examples all dB figures quoted (unless otherwise stated ) are relative to 0dB. Normalisation is also set to 0dB. Case

@russelldean Welcome to the Magix forums. I think I saw a "normalize" option in settings somewhere for auto adjustment of all audio volumes to be level or equal. If only one track audio with different volume levels of sound it keeps the volume

Question about volume & sounds
Hello, I have an important question regarding audio for video. If you put together a video that includes more quiet sounds such as background ambience and sounds that are supposed to be far away, what happens if somebody watching your video is

RE: How to create distance in audio?
As CubeAce has said, audio varies infinitely according to where and how it was recorded, so it will always be difficult to exactly capture an authentic soundtrack. There are a few things that it will help to bear in mind, the first of which is that

RE: INFURIATING 'Rattling' on rendered recordings
@CidBil yes, it's quiet but I chose a quiet part of the mix to show it. Here is a louder version. That crackly 'rattling' is what I am referring to. I have no idea what is causing it.

RE: Automatically adjust all clips' volume to the same perceived level
@FunkyB You mention turning on the Limiter. Is that the Limiter in the Mastering Suite (simply On or Off)? That's the only one I could find mentioned in the manual. No, the Limiter that I mentioned is under the part about using Music Editor 3.

RE: Automatically adjust all clips' volume to the same perceived level
@FunkyB You wrote: Normalizing alone doesn't take into account volume changes within the same clip Err, yes it does exactly what you say it doesn't do, unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean!! "Normalising" is the process by which ALL the audio

RE: When I record my vocals, the instrumental is also being re-recorded.
I looked up the Pyle mixer and unfortuantely that is your problem. The Pyle is a DJ/Live mixer not capable of doing a stereo headphone 'playback' mix independent of the input of your mic back into the computer. Ideally you'll need a different mixer

RE: CBR vs VBR
Hi If you set the bit rate correctly you won't notice a difference between the two. The only difference will be the constant bitrate file will be larger than the variable. This is a little misleading in terms of a discussion about encoding for DVD
