RE: Program Requires Extra Component - MPEG2 Codec MainConcept
@CarpentersMate Hi Mike . . . . HD 1080 from the P2 Flash Card . . . . Most likely DVCPro encoding - if the files on the SD card are a known format, eg AVI, MOV, etc MediaInfo will tell you what the codec is. Do be aware there is a second

RE: MKV FILES
@Chris-Chambers Hi From the encoder ID that would suggest the 'OBS MAYBE' is an OBS recording, the V-MPEG4 (AVI-MPEG4 ?) codec is not supported by Movie Edit Pro (MEP). In the case of the existing recording, if it cannot be redone then I agree with

RE: Am I using MXV files incorrectly.
@Former user Hi Gid. I was experimenting with export formats to see if there were any advantages to any of them. The export to mxv for my 41 minutes of files only took just over an hour so not actually a lot longer than for some other formats on my

RE: Does MEP offer the feature of adding 'boxing-arena' style light flare?
Hi, the M8RA codec must have come with MagicYUV because as far as i'm aware i haven't consciously installed K-Lite CODEC pack, & sorry the mention of ,mov in my comments was a mistake, i was getting a bit mixed up trying to work & play on

RE: Does MEP offer the feature of adding 'boxing-arena' style light flare?
@Former user Hi, I tried the AVI file and it asks to install the CODEC M8RA which is available in the K-Lite CODEC pack. I don't particularly want to install the K-Lite pack as John EB has advised against it in the past. As for the MOV file that you

@CubeAce, @Former user Hi . . . . I don't know why i can play that .mov file in MEP & VLC but you can't, I have a lot of plugins but the only thing i can assume is it's the MagicYUV that i got to run in Vegas . . . . In the case of the video

RE: Does MEP offer the feature of adding 'boxing-arena' style light flare?
@Former user Hi Gid. I'm not sure VPX or MEP could use any codec from another program. Some codecs are not readily distributed across programs or perhaps the folder paths or ability for the program to recognise them as codecs is an issue. Some

@CubeAce 👍 yeah i think i was being a bit lazy & i was supposed to be working, so creating a transparent avi seemed easier, but...😂🤦♂️ If you want anything else, if i can i'll see what i can do 👍 MagicYUV shows in MEP, that'll be why i could

RE: Crashes for burning 23.976, Audio support, options not saved...
The conversion from PAL to NTSC 23.976 can be done in just one pass using VirtualDub2, and the result was a playable AVI file. I always use Lagarith for intermediate steps to avoid multiple reconversions between lossy codecs, as fixing old movies

RE: Aspect Ratio and Movie name problems
I am familiar with the fact that the DVD resolutions are designed to approximate the old TV standards. Of course 720 horizontal on NTSC DVDs is just one of several resolutions often used such as 704 or 640 (square pixels)... The number of pixels is

RE: Aspect Ratio and Movie name problems
@clement5 Hi Thanks for the video clips. The immediate discrepancy is that the Test PAL AVI 4:3 is not 4:3 AR it is 5:4. MEP picks it up as 4:3 - this would account for the sidebars in a 4:3 AR project The MediaInfo data is (I have removed the

RE: Aspect Ratio and Movie name problems
As to the Movie name, they hid the drop down menu very well. Hovering over the menu did not give a clue that it was a dropdown as it just looks like information. They should have the standard triangle or arrow pointing down. Magix is good at hiding

RE: Aspect Ratio and Movie name problems
@clement5 @johnebaker There seems to be something odd going on here with MEP 2022 (on my other computer). MEP2021 seems to import a 720x576 5:4 video into a 4:3 movie correctly: Whereas MEP 2022 doesn't import it correctly. When "Movie Size" is

RE: MEP 2016 Plus Captured AVI Files - Codecs
@CarpentersMate Hi Mike. Seasons Greetings. I think maybe because avi did not support different aspect ratios and was a Microsoft developed codec. I think you would expect that response from an Apple tech department. I would not personally worry

RE: Capturing Mini DV: Is it possible to adjust the output file type ?
Hello Ray and Thank You Yes there's something wrong with the MPEG-2 Export. I think its the codec or incorrect export settings using MEP2013. I doubt its an infection (just the wrong export), or lack of ability using 2013? I'm sure that can be fixed
