17.0.2.159 patch installation fails and now am dead in water

. HI,

I purchased and registered MAGIX Movie Edit Pro Premium in November 2017, I installed successfully and used it for few weeks.   The installed version is 17.0.2.158.

Yesterday when I was running program I got the message that I should install 17.0.2.159.

Following thing happened.

1)      I was given an option of continue without upgrading or go to update service

2)      I click on update and I was given an option to download update

3)      The program keeps looping back to screen “New features available” and option to go  to update service.  Why it does not down load update? And continue with the program?

Well following happens if I “select Continue without updating “

1)      When I select continue without updating I go to activation screen.  With my serial number and email address

2)      I have already previously activated the product “ WHY DOES IT ASK ME TO ACTIVATE AGAIN”

3)      If I select activate then I get the message with error code  24. Which means that the serial number is already activated.

This is really frustrating, because I can neither update nor use the program without updating.  I have time constraints and I have no idea how to get out of this problem.

Calling Customer Service:

If I call support number” 1-305-722-5810”  it hangs or disconnects the phone. I can never talk to human.

I purchased product on Amazon, and called Amazon. They gave me a technical support number.  When I call technical support number It ask me for code. Which code it is asking for.

Is there any way to talk to a human to solve this problem.

I will really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hi

. . . . I select activate then I get the message with error code  24. Which means that the serial number is already activated. . . . .

When you were asked to update/upgrade the dialog box has a check box which says Transfer program information (or something similar) and that this was not checked.

Try the following:

  1. Using your web browser got to the magix.com website

  2. Click the My Account icon and login with your username and password

  3. Click the link My products this will take you to your registered products

  4. Locate your registered version of Movie Edit Pro and click Show more details

  5. If you see 2 installation slots and you have MEP installed on 2 computers you will see the computer name they are installed on

  6. Select Deactivate for the computer installation you are having a problem with

You should now be able to activate MEP on your computer

Hi Jon,

thank you for your response. i really appreciate your help. I am attaching the screen shot of my registered products. I had installed Magix pro demo which is on the registered products. later i uninstalled it before installing Premium version of Magix movie edit.

As i was installing the premium version, i registered it within installation procedure. I do not see it listed on installed products of my profile.

I tried to register the premium version on the Product registration page.

i get the error message that the product is already registered, and i can not register it on the service center page.

it seems that the information of my registration (while installation of premium version) is not transferred to Service center database.

how can i solve this problem.

thanks

Hi

Follow the procedure I posted above again and on your registered products page you should see a Register a product button near the bottom and the text:

'If one of your MAGIX products should be missing, you can use the "Register a product" button to add it.'

Then follow through the steps to register the product.

If that fails you will need to contact Magix support using this support link
