2 videos overlapping

I have magix movie edit pro 2015 and I have not found a way to do this so maybe you can't, but I would like to layer two videos on top of one another where you can see both at the same time and one is a little more see-through than the other. The only way I've found you can do this with my version is by transitions, but the effect only lasts for a few seconds...

Can you do this with this software? If not, is there a magix editor that you can do it with?

Thank you.

Zoom in to see the transition cross over, and try to grab the slopping line. One you can grab it (called handle) you can change the amount of transparency (see-thru) time by moving left/right..... but you can also change the amount of transparency by moving up/down. So with this knowledge, you can change the transparent of the video clip just by moving the line down.

So you can move shift the entire clip on top of each other and it will display one clip with some transparency. May be you can move the 2nd clip on the below timeline and change the transparency so that both clip plays like "ghost". 😉

@dannenbr

Hi

. . . . I would like to layer two videos on top of one another where you can see both at the same time and one is a little more see-through than the other. . . . .

This transparency/opacity of on object is controlled by the Transparency handle - see image below - which appears when you hover the mouse over the video or image object - move/drag this down to increase transparency.

I am not quite sure what you are trying to achieve, an example would help, however if you are reducing the transparency of both video clips then you need a background image or colour eg white, in order to see the effect, otherwise both videos will just go darker ie no background image = black background.

Thank you, those both answered my question! I didn't know you could do this in this editor, awesome!
