2024 2025 2026 none of them work and support are ignoring my tickets

pete-thomas wrote on 10/19/2025, 5:04 AM

I have been a user since 1998 and had 2025 working albeit slowly earlier this year. I upgraded to 2026 and the system froze so reinstalled 2025 that froze so reinstalled 2024 and that worked for a week but froze again today. I've done all the suggestions which by the way should not have to be done for a software package{eg deleting INI, Touch Indicator (FFS!) etc etc and reinstaledd umpteen times. I have 156 songs on the system and when it worked it was fine for fats composition., Now all I want to do is load up the software so I can download all the separate tracks for each song and the load them up into a DAW that works... OR have a working version!!! and it would be NICE if support responded!!!

@pete-thomas What does "froze" mean?

Very slow user interface? Try disabling the Text-Cursor-Indicator in the Windows Accessibility settings.

If you can no longer open Music Maker delete the musicmaker.ini file which stores the program settings. This is identical to resetting the program settings under the File > Settings menu. Reinstalling will not reset the program settings.

Or are you getting Windows blue screens? This could be caused by driver problems. Please check error logs on the Windows Reliability Monitor. You can copy and paste the details from the Reliability Monitor into this forum. Maybe we can see something in the error details.

If I remember it correctly HP installs certain "system optimization software" which could interfere also.

Like I said I have done the INI thing and the cursor. Silly me to think the software should work out of the box and on HO laptops. Once started if I load up any project and press play it grinds to a halt after a few bars... the screen becomes unresponsive with all the graphics still showing. The only way to shut down us to ho onto Task Manager.

@pete-thomas This sounds like an audio driver problem. The Music Maker ASIO driver is a generic ASIO driver which is based on the FlexASIO driver. It might not work well with every hardware. It's recommended to use an external audio interface with its own ASIO driver. If you don't have such a thing you can try other ASIO drivers, for example the newest version of ASIO4ALL or the new Steinberg ASIO driver.

Have you responded to your ticket or asked for a follow-up response? I'm pretty sure tickets get automatically closed after a week or two without any activity.

Hi Peter,

I know Magix was busy with their servers. You might need to log in again.

Try the following:

  • Go to Help / Deactivate Program.
  • Start MMM and reactivate it.

I have followed up with the tcket number every 2 days. Should I just send one on every day till someone notices it?

No, that's odd you didn't get any response.

Unless you were rude and support doesn't want to respond to rude e-mails..

not rude at all I have had many interactions over the years...
