Acid Music Studio 10 - Cannot Register on New PC

Hello,

I have a copy of Sony Acid Music Studio 10 that I purchased back in 2017 and used on a Windows 10 pc for years. I just bought a new Windows 11 pc and installed it on the new computer, and I am unable to register after installing because the program wants to link me to Sony servers that no longer exist. So at this point I have used the "register later" option and used the activation code that was provided along with my serial number.

So the program is working fine, but I'm wondering if it will continue to work if I am never able to register it. In the About menu it says the program is licensed to me and my serial number is listed there. At some point when I was using the activation code I saw something that said "Please register within 30 days", so I'm wondering if I only have 30 days to use the program before it tries to force me to register.

I logged into my Magix account and Sony Acid Music Studio 10 is listed there along with my serial number from when I registered it in 2017, so I put a help ticket in with Magix and they replied and said they don't offer "free support" for products more than 24 months old, and also told me Acid 10 isn't compatible with Windows 11 (it's working fine), and then sent me here to ask for help.

I'm hoping the program will keep working without needing to be registered since it says it's licensed to me in the About section. It's stable, it works, I'm used to it and I don't want to have to move to Acid 11. Does anyone know how this is going to go?

Thanks,

Aaron

I tried registering again and noticed this time that the window said I had 26 days, so it's definitely counting down from 30 days.

I did some more reading here in the forum and found that I could go to my Magix account and download a copy of the program there since I registered it previously, so I uninstalled my Sony copy and downloaded the Magix version and was able to register it (it connected to a Magix server for registration purposes). Not sure why support couldn't have just told me I could do that, oh well.

So anyway, I guess I'll leave this here for posterity - maybe someone else will find it useful someday.
