Activate mp3 in Acid PRO

I cannot load mp3 files into Acid PRO projects. I receive an error "The file cannot be loaded in to Acid Pro Projects. The file type may not be supported."

I also cannot render a project into mp3 (the file type is not available on the drop down).

It would seem that the mp3 codec has not be activated or installed?
