Activation failed - error -56 - any ideas please?

Hi folks,

Just bought the upgrade to Pro X and everything seems to have installed ok. However, trying to activate the product I get the error code in the header here. Logging in to my Magix account, the software shows as being activated ok. Furthermore, if I delete my serial number and run the 7 day demo, the software launches ok and indeed does the patch update!

I have spoken to a Magix rep on the telephone, who suggested uninstalling then deleting that ini file before trying another complete install. I have also now raised a support ticket; but I wondered if anyone had any suggestions? Pro X6 continues to run as normal.

Thanks
Peter

There are a few threads here regarding the recent update, look into them-

Yes I saw both of those threads; hence my original post.

Doing another uninstall and going to the appdata roaming folder, I see two folder were created with this upgrade. Video Pro X - empty - and Video_Pro_X8. There are a couple of folders (Crash and News Feed Info) and a number of files in the root - including the .umly files mentioned elsewhere.

The log file inside the latter includes the line:
>>2018/01/15 13:20:25 [FATAL]   [Common]: CString::LoadString failed with ID=0!<<

Could it be a "path" issue? And that's why the software will not load? Looking inside the Video Pro X6 folder, the Userdata folder is empty - but X6 starts and runs ok as normal.

I get the splash screen, but after "checking the installation" it closes and the software will not launch.

Well it seems my problem was with our hardware firewall, which just "gave up the ghost". Reconnecting our network directly to the router - bypassing the hardware firewall - I was able to activate Pro X at last. I suppose it must have been on the point of failing when trying to install previously.

Anyway, although I have now installed ok, I have a new issue when trying to import my GH5 .mov files. But I'll start a new thread on that subject now.
