Hi.

As a "general" rule, extras released for one Magix video editing app (e.g. MEP) will also be available to another (e.g. VPX) installed on the same computer. I can't at the moment think of any extra downloaded for MEP which VPX cannot access and use, and vice versa; as my signature shows, I have the latest versions of both MEP Premium and VPX installed on this machine.

You ask about "adding" those features. In practice, if you allow the installation of these extra plug-ins etc. to put the files in the default locations both apps will "see" them and make them available without any additional work by the user.

Hi.

I installed VPX 2018 and I have MEP premium 2015 + content pack plug-ins:

When I want to install plugins, an error appears that you must install the main program first. I installed program and then install plugins. The path that plugins install is: "C:\ProgramData\Magix\Movie Edit Pro 2015 Premium" and this path can not change. In this path some plugins install in different folders. For example DesignElement install in OverlayFX, VideoEffect ,....

I can copy folders from MEP to VPX manually and then effects will add to VPX. I want to ask is there any way to install plug-ins without installing MEP? Or copy all folders(at the same time) to VPX will not corrupt VPX perform?

I want to ask is there any way to install plug-ins without installing MEP?

No, the specific plug-ins require their original "host" program be installed first. Once that is done, ALL Magix plug-ins and additional content should be available to other Magix video editing programs.

Also, in my experience there is no need to copy ANY folders "from MEP to VPX manually". Because the main installation location is in the "Program Data\Magix" directory both MEP and VPX should be able to see and use them.

So we should change default path to "Program Data\Magix" for all product and use it commonly.

NO! If you allow each add-on/extra/plug-in etc. for each program to install to its default location that will be C:\ProgramData\Magix. There should be no need to make ANY changes to the default locations, assuming a standard install.

But MEP plugins didn't add to VPX. there is some folders in "C:\ProgramData\Magix". for example "Video Pro X" and "Movie Edit Pro 2015 Premium" that each one has their effect, transitions, titles and etc. I couldn't use new plug-in(in MEP folder) for VPX program. But when I copy all folders in MEP to VPX folder, then I see the plugins in VPX program.

I want to use one program and I think VPX has more facilities. So I want to add MEP facilities to VPX.

And I have another question about VPX. Maybe it related to this things. I add a title to timeline and I want to edit font and etc, But when I select it, there is nothing in that section. there is no problem in MEP:

Hi,

You installed the MEP contents, now you also have to install the VPX contents BEFORE copying anything over from MEP. In VPX, under Help you have to first update, and then "Install extra content," the same as you did with MEP.

Third party plugins, like Jeff says, have to first be installed with the program that they came with, after which they will automatically show up in VPX, and vice versa. Your DigieEffects, I believe, and Red Giant Knoll factory are third party add-ons. Once installed under MEP 2015, they will show up under VPX.

Once you have everything for VPX properly installed, then you can check some of the effects and templates to see if anything is missing. There should not be very. If a lot is missing, then you didn't download and install all of the additional content.

Here is what you have to get:

Hi John.

I don't need MEP and I just want its plugins. So, if that plugins are available for VPX, I download an install them for VPX, without installing MEP. (Because VPX is the complete version of MEP and when you install VPX, you have all features of MEP).

Q1. Are VPX components free?

Q2. Can I download these plugins out of program? In other PC that VPX not installed.

Q3. In previous comment I said TitleEditor in VPX doesn't display anything and I gave an image. Is this problem in your program, too?

As already explained, you have to have MEP installed to also install its "extra content".

IOW, you do need MEP if you wish to use its plug-ins.

Sorry. My English is not good and I can't say it well. Before john's comment, I thought there is no plugins for VPX. So I wanted to help MEV plugins. But when I saw the John's image, I understood that same plugings are available for VPX. In fact my plugins list for MEP(In third comment) is the same plugins in John's image(VPX).

. . . .Q1. Are VPX components free? . . . .

The components listed in the additional VPX additional contents package are free, additional third party plugins/VST/effects not listed may not be.

. . . . .Q2. Can I download these plugins out of program? In other PC that VPX not installed. . . . .

No, you must use the appropriate program to down load the components.

. . . . .Q3. In previous comment I said TitleEditor in VPX doesn't display anything and I gave an image. Is this problem in your program, too? . . . . .

No problem here - ensure your VPX is up to date - mine is at version 15.0.5.211.

MEP doesn't ship with a Commercial Use license for the content that ships with it, so simply copying it over and using it in anything you make money from would be in breach of the agreement.

You have to use the content that comes with VPX, or pay for the license to use the MEP content commercially (if possible).

Some of the content is the same, so buying the VPX license would grant you this. For anything in disparity (ships with MEP but not VPX), you would need to see if it's licenses for commercial use..
