Adding addition software content

papadewey wrote on 9/14/2017, 10:13 AM

I have recently upgraded to MEP2018 Plus Premium, it was supposed to have included the program Isotope Elements as additional content. When I go to "Activate content pack(s)". it does not appear. The product is registered and updated. I have been getting no where with tech support by e-mail. Can someone help me get what I paid for and expected.

Hi

When you purchased the software did you receive a serial number or coupon code for activating the additional packages?

When you click the 'Activate content packages' option do you get this dialog box appear?

If you do not see the above dialog, check to see if it is under the MEP window.

John,

Thanks for the quick reply. No, I do not see the screen shoot you posted. The only thing I see under add aditional content is MPEG 4 plug in. Which I have successfully activated. Was not sure what you meant be check to see if it is under the MEP window.

johnebaker wrote on 9/14/2017, 10:59 AM

Hi

I think you are looking in the wrong place - this is the additional packages activation option

. . . . Was not sure what you meant be check to see if it is under the MEP window . . .

Sometimes a dialog box or pop up may get 'trapped' under the Window you are seeing, you can usually see if this is the case by pressing Alt + Tab to cycle through all open windows.

Don't know if you got my last comment. I have been looking under the help as you show. Here are the screen shots of what I see for activate and extra content. You will notice neither has Isotope list. I don't get the box to add serial number, and its not hidden.

I have download loaded and installed most of these. Isotope is not listed there to install

On the French forum, they say that it should show up under Effects on the line with the other plugin effects, and you activate it from there. I don't have it so I can't help any more.

Hi

@browj2

. . . . it should show up under Effects on the line with the other plugin effects . . . .

Izotope is not available here under Extra effect, Plug-ins or Audio effects (which is where I would expect it to be).

Re-scanning for plugins does not add any new ones.

@papadewey

. . . . They tell me I will find Isotope elements after the installation from the content pack. But it does not show in content pack . . . .

Agreed, it is not in the content pack lists, in fact the extra content packs appear to be fewer than previous versions of MEP as you can see below is yours the same list

MEP v16.x.x.x

MEP v17.x.x.x

I am beginning to wonder if there is an issue with the download server content.

Thanks for all the suggestions; Well Magix is not very up front about a problem. It is very frustrating to have to go thru so much trouble to get what was supposed to be included content downloaded and installed. John it does not show up in the effects drop down menu, and yes I have the same list as you. According to the instructions they sent with activation: You will find the isotope Elements after installation from the content pack. And they give me a coupon code. Their instructions tell me to activate free additional from Activate content packages. But it does not appear in the content pack.

At wits end!!

papadewey wrote on 9/14/2017, 4:33 PM

From within MEP 2018 premium I found under effects, in the store, the isotope elements for purchase. Thinking that maybe this was the way to get it, but when I click on purchase, nothing happens. I can see it but not able to purchase it. Thought I would share that. I include a screen shot.

Just to add to the confusion, perhaps..

I used the procedure that is outlined above: Help>Install additional content, and initially saw only the screen with the list of templates etc., as shown by JohnEB, including the screen asking for the initial access code.

However, after a pause of some minutes (presumably whilst MEP dialled home) I was presented with a series of screens asking whether I wished to install various additional products (NewBlue, HitFilm, etc.,) and, eventually, iZotope Elements.

As it happens I already run the full iZotope RX6 Advanced, so Elements, which is based on it, gave me nothing extra, but it did "install" successfully.

Just to add some possible "confusion", here is what I see under Effects:

Despite the apparent "message" (the downward arrows) that these are still available for download, they actually are already installed!

Hi John.

Sorry it wasn't clear in my message, and I think I omitted some potentially crucial details! 😊

I saw all the above screens, entered my access code on the final one and then came the pause. I didn't "pause" anything, it was simply that nothing appeared to happen for some time but then the first installation screen (for HitFilm, IIRC) appeared, quickly followed by NB (which also opened my NB Account log-in window) and then iZotope Elements. I was concerned that the second and third screens actually appeared before the first install was complete so I selected to cancel those installations, assuming I could restart them later. Also, each add-on needed a specific serial number, all of which actually were delivered, a few minutes later, by email.

In the meantime I discovered those Download buttons on the Effects tab and was able to complete the missing installations by clicking on them. Interestingly, clicking each download button then also revealed the appropriate serial number for the product concerned. Clearly, there are a lot of background connections to the Magix server going on!

As an aside to this question of connections to the Magix server, I'm pretty certain that, before this update of MEP, the background process listed in Task Manager of "MAGIX Network Sync" was not present?

Bizarre??

It wasn't, AFAICS this is a feature added for syncing with Camera MX and the cloud, as I use neither of these I have turned it off / disabled it from running automatically.

Hi Jeff and John,

Just to confirm, with VPX, the only additional background process that I have running is "MagixOfa Helper-Module," no "MAGIX Network Sync."

The new installation process should have some instructions somewhere. Are there none in the email or in a link in the email?

I am wondering what happened to Vasco da Gamma. It's an external program with no links to Magix programs so why would it disappear? Did this happen to anyone else?

The place to enter a code. When I click on the blue icon ( isotope elements) I don't get the enter code box. When I click on the blue icon ( isotope elements) I see this box open

When I click on the word "Purchase" it grays out for 30 seconds then goes back to darker color. But nothings happen or allows me to enter coupon code.
