By ITC Gothic Std which version do you mean - there are several variants, ie Franklin, Serif, Avant Garde and Handel?

The ITC Franklin Gothic and Mortal Kombat both work fine in MEP 2015 v 14.0.0.187.

Do note that the ITC Franklin Gothic is very similar to Arial and if your font size is too small you will not see the difference.

OK, I went and did that - and even restarted my computer...
same result: all Mortal Kombat fonts and all ITC Serif Gothic fonts defaulted to Arial.

What now?

With reference to your now closed post and installed fonts not working in the Title Editor

The ITC Serif Gothic and Mortal Kombat fonts work in MEP 2021 as shown below

Where did you get the fonts from - I use dafonts.com ?

Did you install the TrueType (TTF) version of the fonts - some OpenType and bitmap fonts do not work?

How did you install them?

@johnebaker I got them from 1001freefonts.com, dafonts.com, and MortalKombatWarehouse.com.

@johnebaker I installed the TTF Versions of them... and I installed them in the usual way:
- Download
- Click on font icon in folder
- Characters show in different window, click install.

I did all that, and they still come out in the Arial style.

Assuming the fonts are available in other programs - did you check?

Assuming you are using the AMD processor PC, depending on your Graphics Card you may need turn off the 2 Hardware Acceleration options on the Program settings, Import/Export tab if they are not already off, and check what Display mode setting you are using, these are my settings, however you will not have the Intel GPU, try changing the Video mode to Compatability... mode

Yes, the fonts are available in other programs.
As far as Movie Edit Pro... I did everything you suggested: Disabled both Hardware Acceleration options, and changed video mode to Compatibility...

Same result: all Mortal Kombat and ITC Serif Gothic fonts are coming out Arial.

Thanks for coming back with the testing results.

There are few possibilities left as this has occurred for you in MEP 2015 and 2021.

The issue is either:

1. some thing specific to your PC eg the graphics card - which make model is it?
   
   or
    
2. a setting has been changed in the program settings - can you post screen shots of the Display/options tab and Import/export tab.

Other than that I am running out of causes.

Here's the info on the graphics card I have: AMD (ATI RadeonTM Graphics Division)'s AMD RYZEN 5 2600X WRAITHS. Also in this message you should see the screen shots you requested: Display/Options and Import/Export. I hope this helps...

Thanks for the settings images. Nothing wrong AFAICS there.

BTW your graphics cards is a Nvidia GTX 1660 - it is displayed in the left hand image above.

I set my MEP 2021 to use my Nvidia card only and the same program settings as yours and tested again - the fonts worked with no issues.

I assume when finishing a title after editing, in MEP 2015 and 2021, the option indicated below has been used to confirm the settings and get out of editing mode and confirm the changes.

Normally the title editor would close when clicking on another object however there appears to be a bug in MEP 2021 clicking any object on the timeline leaves the title editor open.

Note: MEP 2021 does require you to press the Enter key to confirm changes in some dialogs such as the Size & Position where you type in the numbers for width height etc.
