Anyone created new collages recently?

Has anyone made any new collages with MEP 2016/2017 recently? If so I'd appreciate hearing from you please. It's been a few months since my last but I'm baffled why I cannot get my current attempt working properly. I'm following the procedure I described three years ago here:

https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/making-a-new-collage-in-mep--1110317/

It's a rather complex method so I strongly suspect some mistake on my part, but no success so far after several hours on it. But I just hate unsolved puzzles of this sort 😕.

Hi Terry

The collage I created in 2017 still works OK in 2018 and a new test collage just created also works - using the new file path to the collages folder on Windows 10 - following your procedure.

Here is the new collage in the Collages pane

added to the objects on the timeline

If your collage is not appearing in the collages pane check that the translation.ini entry format is as in my entry:

##################################### Test collage 2018

[Test_collage_2018]
name=[>] Test collage 2018.  01 (16:9)

Note the underscores in the text inside the [ ] - if you have spaces the collage will not appear.

Added:

Your procedure can be simplified by using a set of images called PH1 - PH30 and a spacer.tif image all in a project folder as I have - shown below - this makes naming easier in MEP and the only browsing you then have to do is when you export to MVD, change to CTF and edit the translation ini file.

Hi John,

Just came back to report eventual success! 😉 As suspected, it was indeed a slip on my part. One of my six source images had somehow changed its size and position and I'd not spotted it.

Thanks a bunch for replying promptly and especially for that improvement on the procedure, which I'll try shortly.

If you or anyone else would like this latest collage I'll happily zip up the files and email you the link. Here's the preview:

Hi Terry

Nice effect - very clean and effective.

I assume you were on your way to Bozen/Bolzano - did you get to see Ötzi the Iceman?

Cheers

Yes.

No. Although we'd seen him before we had intended to do so again. But that was on the day my iPad was stolen and I spent a couple of hours in the police station and the rest of the day worrying!
