Appearance of media objects in time-line mode

bretals wrote on 11/6/2017, 10:57 AM

The problem is a simple one (I think), most likely of my making.

When editing in the Timeline-mode, the various media elements (images, videos, etc appear as solid blocks of colour. The actual images do not appear and neither do the ‘Object Handles’ within each of the elements.

I think that I’ve hit a setting inadvertently and created this problem. My question is: How do I restore it to the default view?

Your assistance will be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi,

Try expanding the zoom on the timeline by using the + button at the bottom left of the timeline. This is for horizontal zoom. Or use Ctrl+Mousewheel to zoom in and out horizontally.

A screen shot would have helped, so I am only guessing.

Hi

. . . . The actual images do not appear and neither do the ‘Object Handles’ within each of the elements . . . .

Object handles do not appear until, as John CB says you are zoomed in sufficiently on the timeline to see them and an the mouse pointer is over the object.

Please post a screen shot of the timeline objects not showing the preview images and the full name and version number of the program as found under Help, About . . .

Hi

If the height of the tracks has been set too small you will not see any thumbnails.

Funny, yesterday I had the same problem and wondered what I had done.

See screenshot. However as has already been suggested, if you increase the height of tracks, then the handles appear.
