Hello, welcome to the Magix forums.

First, I have removed your email address since this should never be published in a public forum which is what this is. I have also removed your order number, which is confidential to you.

To help us help you please tell us if you have followed all the steps below:

  1. Have you downloaded the software to your computer?
  2. Have you installed the software on your computer?
  3. Have you tried to run it?
  4. Do you see a screen which asks for the serial number, which would have been in the email you received which confirmed the purchase?
  5. That same screen also requires your email address.
  6. When you have filled in the serial number and your email address you should see a green tick beside both the number and your email.
  7. Click on the register button. Your computer needs to be connected to the internet; if it is, a connection will be made to the Magix server and your registration will be completed automatically. If your computer is not connected to the internet you will need to follow the procedure which enables you to register via a different computer. In either case, if this is your first software product from Magix you will be asked to create an account, I think.
  8. If your registration is successful you will see an on-screen message telling you so.

If you have tried to do the above and still cannot use your software please post back telling us exactly at which point the process doesn't work for you.

Can someone explain this to me. I've been thinking about the upgrade process, I may want to deactivate VPX, scratch the disc with a new Win 10 update, and load VPX again, but will it work?

Reading this, it sounds a bit confusing.

Hi

The second half of the dialog means that once de-activated on a particular computer it will not work until it is re-activated on that same computer.

John, trying to get to VPX9 (.211) from VPX8 (.176), do you think I should try this deactivation process, then activate again might help.

I don't want to risk not having the option to reactivate it again.

I rolled the dice and decided to try and upgrade again. I used a different procedure, I used Help-update online, and it started the download process. I chose to update once the program exited, rather than while the program was open. It updated to (.211), and now it allows me to exit, or close the program rather than having to go to the task manager to stop it. I installed the bonus NewBlue Effects that came with update, but they don't perform consistently. NewBlue does have some neat app windows that pop up so you can judge the effect, but the tiles, or icons there are either blank or black. Depending on which effect package you choose, you get the pop-up app window, often not, you have to adjust the effect within VPX, not the NewBlue app window. I burned a DVD with 13 chapters, and its still performing properly, so maybe VPX has become stable.

My NewBlue Effects include:

Action Cam Package

Cartooner Plus

Filters 5 Recolor

Filters 5 Recreate

Looks

Video Essentials III & IV

Are these all suppose to operate within the NewBlue Effects pop-up window?

Hi Greg

Good to see you got .211 working. Maybe you could update your other post to detail what you did.

I once had a glitch with the online update "Update immediately / Update after closing the program" similar to you but can not remember which method worked.

Re:- New Blue - think Magix are trying to integrate them into the VPX user interface instead of the pop up ( I think the popup is better) and where in the previous version I had 2 separate entries and methods for the same effect, I only have one entry for them all (which open with the Magix GUI) , except for NB Colourfast where I have both interfaces.
