Audio Drop Offs Continue...

Kaywahjay wrote on 9/29/2018, 5:28 PM

My soundtrack mysteriously drops out at the same point on playback and even after exporting.... I've tried changing music on the soundtrack, removing or sliding the images from track 1 far away from the problem spot but regardless it still cuts out for 4-5 seconds in the same places...Any thoughts?

Try copy/pasting the entire project into a new movie (i.e. new tab).

Hi Terrypin. Thanks for the suggestion How is exactly is that “ Copy-Paste” move Accomplished?...

First make a new empty movie by either of these two methods (or even faster, use the appropriate KB shortcut):

Then copy/paste to that new movie:

This sometimes helps if a project has become corrupted. But, without seeing more detail of your project, it's only a long shot suggestion.

After reading several posts from you on the same subject (bad!) I'm not even sure whether your video and audio are combined on track 1? If so, try separating them:

BTW, this is all very basic stuff. I'm guessing you have not watched John Brown's introductory tutorials in the Tutorial section?

Hi Terry, Actually I have watched all 3 of his tutorials and have gotten past a number of beginner issues. In my current project the video is on track one and audio on track 4...It has somehow gotten corrupted and gives me these mysterious drop-offs...I did notice that if I Mute the video track the audio plays fine but now of course the video images disappear...hopefully this copy-paste is the answer. Thanks much for your help and if you have any other thoughts they're much appreciated.

Hi,

"...hopefully this copy-paste is the answer."

Well, personally I'm not optimistic - but it only takes a few seconds to try it. A lot faster than explaining it!

Any thoughts about the fact that muting the video track solves the issue?

I read in an other post here that it is important to have continuous video/Pictures.
So if you have gaps in the Movie on track 1, that might be the cause (and would explain why it Works when muted).

Just a single fram gap may be the root of the drop-out
