Audio Glitches When Sent to Edit Pro 2015

Seemingly random videos when added to my Magix Movie Edit Pro 2015 will have terrible audio screeching or glitching sounds. They do not occur when I play the same clip through windows media player. I recorded the clips through OBS on audio bitrate 128 kbps and 44.1 khz. They occur while using the playback option while editing, and still happen but sound different when I export the video. My audio export settings are the same, 128kbps and 44.1 khz. Frame rates for video are also the same.

Hi.

I hesitate to "blame" any one software but I have read a number of threads on various forums whose writers experience the same or very similar problems with files created using OBS. I wonder whether the audio is actually being recorded as VBR (variable bit rate) rather than CBR (constant bit rate) and if so, whether MEP can handle VBR audio files?

If you download and install the free MediaInfo https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo and point it to one of your problem files, you should see an entry in the Tree view that shows whether it is VBR or CBR.

The issue lies in OBS Studio, I switched to OBS classic and I no longer have any audio problems when adding the files to Magix.

Hi,

Thanks for the update and solution to the problem.

For future reference it would be useful to know what are the differences between the files produced by OBS Studio and OBS Classic. Do you still have any files produced from the former that you could use MediaInfo on and then post the results here, along with results of a file from OBS Classic so we can see what might be the cause?
