Hi,

if your video has a uniform colored background this is possible to remove the background color and replace with another background picture or a movie. Similar to a green screen or chromakey to remove a uniform color using the eye dropper to select the color.

Regards,

YR

@David-Godfray

In addition to what @yvon-robert wrote, can you give us rather more detail about exactly what the video currently consists of (a screenshot of one frame in the Source or Program monitor would be helpful ) and what, exactly, you wish to change. With that sort of information we should be able to help you.

Hi

. . . . to add a coloured background  so when the video is played you can see the colour behind it . . . .

Assuming you mean something like this

There are 2 ways of doing this:

  1. Right click the video object, select Background design, Background design, Use colour and select the colour needed and apply

    Note: if you want the colour behind every video or image object on the timeline you would have to repeat this for every object in which case option 2 is better.

  2. Move the video, and or image objects, to a lower track and place a coloured image on the track you have just vacated. You can stretch the coloured image for as long as you require the background to be seen - see image below where I have set the yellow image to be behind 2 image objects

    MEP has basic colored images available under Templates, Image objects, Test images, and also Backgrounds options, you can also create your own in any image editor as save them as jpg or png files.
