I'm doing some VHS transfers. I'm using Virtual Dub to capture my AVIs in Lagarith format. When I import them into MEP, no audio waveform is created, and there is no right-click option to create it after the file is on the timeline. These AVIs are around 3 hours long, averaging 80gb.
When I split the file into two equal halves with Virtual Dub and then import to MEP, I get a waveform as per normal. So I tried cutting off just the last minute with Vdub but that didn't work.
To save me trialling and erroring (different codecs, audio sources, capture devices), my question for the floor is:
Is there a size/time limit on a file at which point MEP will not produce a waveform?
Thanks! Al
