BIT RATE CONVERSION

my mp3 player is 8giz my audio bible is on 3 mp3 disks i've tried to put it on my player but there is to much information on it to be transfered to my player. how can i get the bit rate down or converting into a smaller compression format i've tried to us the conversion software but it is not working

Not really sure what program you are using? If its MP3 Maker just select the file and convert it. This should (by default) open your encoder settings where you can change the bit depth of the file.
