Black frames in event clips when placed on the timeline (VEGAS PRO 18)

Hi, I bought a subscription to VEGAS PRO 18 today and was excited until I realized that the event clips when placed on the timeline created black frames randomly ... can anyone help me? (Windows 10 | Intel Core i7 | 16Gb RAM | lots of disk space) Thanks!!!
